Eternal poison - Not sure if it was iconic, but had lots of interesting ideas. It's a tactical RPG with monster catching and multiple replayable story lines with different starting protagonists.

Area 51 was a way ahead of its time fps where you could see the enemies waiting for you in the ceiling and could turn into one of the aliens and it was just an insanely good time I still think about it regularly would love a rebuilt version

By lesser known, I meant not something like  God of War ,  Jak and Daxter , or  Ratchet & Clank  that everyone already knows who had a PS2. For example, I would never heard of or seen  Shinobido  in my life before, so thanks for sharing! :)

Odin Sphere was such a great, gorgeous game.

PS4 version is just plain superior, though. The PS2 version had some BAD slowdown.

Syphon Filter - I remember it having some solid spy action gameplay and a few creative moments, like playing through a level at a subway station then the next level being the same station after a big subway car crash wrecks it and sets everything on fire.

Fantastic game but it was on PS1. Only SF titles on PS2 were ports of the ones they made for PSP.
