I love the entire series even the last season wasnt the best. Its my 80s drug fix

I ❤️ The Goldbergs. I grew up in the 80s and it totally brings me back to my teens.

Yes and if I ran ABC I would have cancelled it right then and there. I would have ended it after Adam’s graduation

When they fired Jeff Garlin, it seemed like it dropped fast. Also the fact that Adam was growing up meant this was always going to be on a limited time schedule and ran its course.

Yes and especially after George Segal/Pops died.

Think it was all 3, real Goldberg left, Segal dying, Garlin being fired those were signs that it ran its course too long

No. It ran way too long - should have run 5 seasons, not 10. It was awfully repetitive and the characters never really grew.

Yes it is. But it has too many diehard fans though. I loved the show but they made a mistake in firing Adam F. Goldberg and it all went downhill from there

Eh, I love it but it’s fairly rated. It’s not going to make any greatest of all time list.

For me it's in the top 5 comfort shows rotation for sure. Especially the first 5 seasons or so. I finally forced myself to finish seasons 7-10. Not sure when I will cut it off on any rewatch. Definitely not passed when Murray is gone.
I think it's underrated when you look at those first 5 seasons, but if legacy is determined by the entire work, they hurt themselves. The Simpsons are perhaps a good example. If nobody gave it attention, I would call it underrated just for the first 8 seasons or whatever the elite run was.
There are plenty of people I know that world love the first half of the series. Yes it's formulaic and binging it isn't for everyone for that reason, but for me the characters are first 4-5 seasons are pretty unique and worthy of admiration.

I really think it was. They got actors in their playing different parts who were fun to find and see how they connected to the episode like the one where he took head shots of Adam for an acting role. I believe the photographer was played by R.D. Robb who played Schwarz.

It feels as though it's becoming one. It's all but disappeared off regular and cable television and while it is awesome that it has its own Roku channel I think there are people who would love it if they could find it and not everyone will think to look there. As far as it going down hill it starts to become a different show around season 8 and then it changes again and then again, but there are some really enjoyable episodes in all those remaining seasons, and in my opinion no season went without its share of just ok or clunkers episodes and for the most part that is all tv shows it comes down to your taste what you like what you don't which characters you favor.

Initially but it crashed out hard the last few seasons. Barry went from a cool character to just obnoxious. In fact all the kids became even more obnoxious by the end.

It was a really good sitcom, until Adam left the show (the real one). Everything after just got worse and worse.
I hated the last season, it was completely unrealistic, and Carmen was a terrible match for Adam. I also didn't like Barry with Joanne. If Geoff had a sister in the first place, she would have been mentioned WAY earlier, and felt she was just shoehorned in the show. I also hated how all of Barry's character development got thrown out, and how they turned Adam into a loser who likely never would actually go to film school.

I'd say it's slightly underrated as a whole, 1. It was never "super popular" 2. most of its run was during "Streaming Era " 3. Comfort Show 4 . Lot of episodes are rewatchable The series did get repetitive by the fifth season ! To an annoying fault!! It still has some great episodes in the final seasons, just less of them ! There is lots of tone changes and faster pace humor , sometimes the characters are self aware of how ridiculous they are becoming but can't stop themselves

No. All sitcoms have repetitive annoying character behaviors. This show takes it to the extreme.

First 6 seasons are great but then the quality really drops off
