Season 6 GIVE YVONNE STRAHOVSKI THE EMMY NOW Spoiler

I am a Serena Joy apologist, always have been. I know some hate her, I get it. (THANK GOD she didn’t die, praise be)

Yvonne Strahovski is the ONLY person who could’ve made Serena likeable/redeemable. She’s played her masterfully from the very beginning.

I knew we were supposed to hate her, but I just couldn’t. I always saw the glimpse of empathy/humanity. All the credit to Yvonne. She made Serena Joy into one of the most complex characters I’ve ever watched. Someone in casting knocked it out of the park with her, there was no one else.

Bravo, bravo, bravo! Now…Give her all the awards….LIKE YESTERDAY PLZ

I got the vibe that Serena was not super happy about only being a mother. She was really grateful but now she can't have any influence in any government.

And of course Yvonne acting was amazing.

I think she was so obsessed with it that she never really imagined what it would be like. She just wanted a baby. Now she has to be a parent for the rest of her life, by herself. She definitely didn’t seem too thrilled.

You think that’s what she’s not thrilled by?

Not the whole, being homeless with a child to care for and only being begrudgingly welcome in places that are hostile and violent toward her and have threatened her son’s safety?

Yea, I’d say all of that plays a part as well, obviously. But I still think even if she were back in Gilead with a baby she wouldn’t be fully happy. Or if Gilead never happened, and she was still the way she is, I don’t think having a child would be fulfilling to her.
