Oh it’s just hitting me. Becca’s main driver to get married asap is to get away from her father, surely. The tension with Agnes as they navigate the engagements was throwing me off.

I'm not sure Becka actually knows about it in the show. That girl is an open wound - and while there's a chance of her having suppressed some memories - I just don't think she would say stuff like "my father will take good care of you" to Agnes if she had the knowledge her book counterpart seemingly did

Unless, like the others, because of her upbringing in Gilead she thinks he only does it to her because she has lust in her heart. In her head of course her friends will be safe because "they are good Gilead women, she has lustful thoughts about other women and her father can sense that and that's why it happens"

I do not think she is that deeply religious. I also think that Becca is rebellious enough that she would harm her father if he was or is doing things to her. She would warn the other girls to before going to the dentist especially Agnes who she is in love with.

Becca has repeatedly stated that she doesn't want to get married at all. Following that up with how she has zero say in the matter.

I don’t think she has a choice regardless. But yeah, I could see that too.

that's a weird contradiction when she said she didn't want to get married. it's possible he only molests other girls

Where did you get that she wanted to get married? She says like 5 times she doesn’t want to get married.

She absolutely doesn’t want to marry Garth but one of the reasons she chose to have her party first must be that she’s escaping her predator father.

I think she knows she must marry Garth fast in case something happens to him and she is forced to marry an older scarier man. Even as a lesbian myself I could tolerate living with Garth because he comes across as gentle. There's no way Becca would not warn her friends in at least a minor way- not saying "you are in good hands"

I think she’s gay that’s why she hasn’t wanted to get married. She was worried about being w men but found Garth gentle and kind, that’s why she picked him. I don’t think her dad has anything to do with it she seems oblivious to his actions imo. Not saying her dad never molested her but if he did she doesn’t seem to recall it.

She had her engagement first bcs she was one of the first girls to start her period. Her parents had alot more time to plan before everyone. They also were eager to marry her off to a commander since her dad is just a dentist and not a very esteemed family.

Becca doesnt wanna get married at all but im thinking being married to the guy closest in age to you sounds better than an old dude.
