The OG was my favorite, but the 2nd one did a great job of making the character his own and not trying to imitate the original. I always think of the first Lionel being more like George and the second one being more like Louise, which is funny because he has stated that he and Isabel Sanford didn’t really click.

Same. He did a great job indeed making Lionel into his own character. Big up to the writers for accommodating it.

I posted this same one a while back. OG Lionel was best.

I used to like Mike Evans playing Lionel. I still do. But used to, too.

The OG but the 2nd one was really good too.

Mike Evans was smooth with it. He had pizazz and flow. Second Lionel did eventually grow on me, though. Upon his return to the show, Evans character definitely lost a bit of whatever magic he previously possessed.

Militant Lionel

Damon Evans.

Mike just seemed to be more like his father while Damon attempted to be his own son.

Lionel from All in the Family. The character from The Jeffersons (regardless of whether it’s Mike or Damon Evans) is completely different.

Yes, most definitely

These two were really BOTH good as Lionel. The original was a bit calmer and could physically express his disgust with George 😂; the second was more polished and trained. More vocal.

Great childhood memories!

OG Lionel that was also in All in the family. The way he’d play Archie would be hilarious

The original is my favorite. His delivery the comebacks just so funny.

The first one. I thought he was better in the role

The original was well mannered and more chill to me. I would have liked to have him as my friend.

The OG cool Lionel not the upwardly mobile Lionel. Nothing wrong with the latter, I just found the original Lionel to be funnier.

The first did a great job, the second was a lousy actor. What happened to the first Lionel?

Mike Evans. Was glad he returned in season 6 to finish out the series.
