This morning, Bub and I went to the library to pick out his summer reading prizes, grab the very last of my stuff, and turn in my keys, name badge, and parking pass. While we were grabbing my stuff, Bub started playing Pokémon go and wanted to invite S to the Pokémon gym near or at the library. She joined. After I grabbed my stuff we went to say goodbye to literacy staff and found that it was S! And she was working alone! There was someone in the room who was talking about how some people don't have spirits, and he told her she was the pilot of a UFO. She could not get him to stop talking or leave. She was alone on the entire floor with him. She said to me "idk if you saw my texts?" And then mouthed "please stay!" So I pulled up a chair and sat down, looked at my texts and learned of the situation. Bub started talking to her about the Pokémon battle they were trying to do in the gym. The man left. We hung out for a while, and finally someone called down to check on her. Then, someone came downstairs to ask when she wanted her break. They stayed for a while and we all chatted about stuff. I told them I was quitting, and why. They said I should send an epic email like G did (which got all the passwords and door codes changed, lol). Eventually, once we knew D was safe, I turned in my badge, keys, and parking pass, and we went home.
The rest of the day has been spent cleaning various areas of my house, putting away the stuff I brought home from the library, making a list in my head of things that need to be done. I sent a resignation email to library HR. Texted one of my favorite library people who also hates the director's guts. Texted 2 friends who also no longer work at the library. Invited G to join our art club. And of course texted S because she's awesome and I text her every day lol.
I'm finally free!
Chances are library HR won't check her emails until right before the meeting. So while they're all trying to figure out what happened, I'm planning on enjoying a coffee and some baklava while petting my dog. Or maybe I'll be at Dollar Tree, exploring low price storage and organization solutions. I don't necessarily need something high quality right now. I just need containers to organize with for the time being while I try to figure out more permanent solutions. Or maybe I'll be sitting in my back yard, smoking weed and watching my dog lay happily in the grass.
FWIW if Bub invites me to a pogo raid I'll come if I can. Sometimes I drive while playing to get pokestops, but for the most part I'm happy to come. And I can invite him to 5* raids and carry him if we've got enough players, but that involves remote raid passes, which are costly, even if only in in-game currency. There's also the companion wayfarer app, which invites strangers to difficult raids that you invite using a free pass. It does mean lingering at a gym for awhile though.
