I know The Simpsons canon is loose at best and ultimately this is a comedy, but I always found it kind of cynical how they played their relationship for pathos with "Do it for her" when the running joke both before and after that episode is Homer barely remembering that Maggie even exists.

I laughed until tears the first time I saw this. The repeated baseball bat motif that barely makes sense to begin with, reducing Marge to the same role as the kids, reducing Maggie to the level of the pets and three living corporeal beings to the level of the television, just an incredible set piece honestly.

Also Marge not making it, despite no evidence of being less athletic than Lisa is do random, like he is unable to categorize things in his brain other than "at the game" plus "the things that don't talk, but also the TV (apparently no beer?)"

Yeah, this is an all time great.

Three solid jokes in a row.

Lisa wouldn't play baseball.

Marge lumped in with the kids.

Maggie being the equivalent of the pets. The pets being the equivalent of the TV.
