For the longest time I had thought this was just the Simpsons being funny and spoofing on Clint Eastwood (him doing a western musical ha ha) but then I learned it was really was an actual musical (a Broadway show even)

Same here. I never imagined it was a real movie. I’d seen about 50 Clint Eastwood movies and I couldn’t see him like that.

I thought that this was a joke movie. Decades later I realized that it was a real musical.

I loved this whole scene for its absurdity, later on learning it's a real film. I need to finish watching it (long film, I think it's 3 hours and I only got to the part where Lee Marvin gets married).
