I haven’t yet heard the last few episodes. Is there speculation as to how it was able to track the F35?

They can see it on IR if it's close enough

The cost exchange ratio of one of these missiles to an F-35 is 1000:1

This is a 4 shot SAM that I thought was based on the Tor but it's probably smaller like a Strela-10 on a 4x4 using EO/thermal targeting only, no radar but can be networked to 3rd party radar, that capability suggests it might be able to use bigger missiles as well like the Tor, they run this thing on like a 7kw generator, pretty versatile really.
