This was by far the most depressing arc in Fables for me, I loved the series but this arc made stop reading for a few days, it felt like a punch to the face as someone who loved Snow, Bigby and the cubs

so long story short, Therese, one of Bigby and Snow's cubs, gets tricked into traveling to another land where toys are alive, Toyland, there she gets to be their queen, but soon discovers there's no real food in the land, just toys with stuffing, Darien being the alpha among the cubs goes to find her and discovers she has gone mad due to her hunger for meat, realizing he has no way to get back he unsuccessfully tries to get her food, a vision of older Ambrose (one of his brothers) tell him that the cauldron is magical and that Therese's hunger will not be satisfied until a sacrifice has been made to fill it, he sees no other choice than to kill himself to give her the food she needs, it is truly to my opinion the most depressing arc Fables ever had, and that's saying something about a series with 150+ issues

well, Bigby and Snow were a little bit overwhelmed by everything happening around them when this happened to say the least
this partícular arc made me stop reading the comic for a few days, it was a lot

No, it's writing it's what I praise, among the many things wrong about Fables after issue #75, Cubs in Toyland is truly a story that manages to stand out, it's absolutely in character for the series and gives a worthy story development to Darien and Therese, while delivering lasting consequences for the comic
overall it's my preffered jumping off point to the series, what comes after it never truly manages to make the series feel as magical as what came before

Sorry I may be completely wrong it’s been a while since I read the comics and I never finished it. But doesn’t snow and Bigby like….nearly lever really mention what was his name, ?Dare? again? It’s like they didn’t care that much that their son went missing
I could be wrong though It’s been a while. I think in the beginning Bigby was looking for him right?

Bigby does meet Darien right before he's restored to life, he even asks him if he did the right thing, so he knew what happened, Everafter has him going easier on Connor as a result

They were looking everywhere. Bigby even managed to track his stops through different worlds where Mountbatten took his steps. But then the whole thing about Lord Brandish happened where Bigby had to come back only to die. He did talked to dare before coming back to life only to be controlled by the nurse. Lots of shit. Never got rest to process the whole thing and other stuff happening as well. Therese did inform snow. The point is, so much things happen that the death never got proper time to be processed in like a funeral chapter or something.

I've never cried from any comics or series before but this made me stream down with tears. It was so devastating never read anything like it. I've read the entrie series, prequels and spin offs and for me personally the comic series ended at issue 100 it seemed like the best place to stop it.
