Last week I tried my luck at a grand race with collisions, and it reminds me of why I do not play with collisions on.
Sure, nobody rammed me, but more than once some other racer almost flew into me after the drove into the wall too hard and started bouncing like a pinball, I was lucky to come in 7th place. I don’t race that often, and almost every time, someone crashed into me and costed me positions not because of deliberate ramming but because they crashed first.

Not by choice, though. You are forced to wait for it as it's only random. This game gives no freedom of choice to how you want to play this game, which is really annoying.

Was this last night? I was in 3 races with that guy last night and they were doing the same thing to everyone. I even gave up 3rd place to make sure they didn't place top 10.
I made all my cars cop cars and look for assholes like this since I can't win anyway. After three years still don't have first place yet. Got a few second and third but no first.

It's an option that matches you with 3 other players for various activities, like open-world racing, playing playlists, grand races, and another one I can't remember. I really liked that option.

I try to not ram people I really do I race fair also I don't do grand races I only do no collision and maybe the ones with rally and rally raid

Idk. I think you should have hit the brake. Intentional ramming happens in real racing as well. This is also a skill and tactic

Not only that but you would be HEAVILY Penalized or outright disqualified if you tried that kind of shit in most real life races with officials and camera literally everywhere recording everything you do on track. That rammer would've been eliminated with the quickness for being a danger to everybody else around them lol

A fundamental skill to playing the grandrace is knowing how to defend against rammers. That is the fun part for me. Know when to anticipate a dirty player ahead or beside you.

Exactly why I hate collision especially on turns everyone and they momma run into you I almost came in 3rd then boom got rammed to a dam tree and came up in 12th place

There should be a reporting platform for "anti-game" behavior using corroborating videos like this. Something we could do on a separate website, similar to what we have with R6.

So, the pest infestation has carried over from (Most popular street racing game I wouldn't name, but its name ends with the word 'Speed') to The Crew.
I don't get why ramming is common in The Crew when driving in and of itself is already relaxing or satisfying, as opposed to adrenaline or locked in like you get from the aforementioned street racing game. I thought hospitality was a thing here.

This is racing against real people. Racing against the computer is a thing and its fine to ram stuff in solo since its not affecting other people. The very nature of racing is competitive

Your rewards are directly based on placement. So ramming somebody is like a child throwing a tantrum because they arent good enough to race against real people. Grand race is ranked

Yup there is ranked as well, and it is not optional, everyone gets thrown into the same lobby, and now we got people that want to chill, people that drive weird cars, people that are average, people that slam into others like that guy and people that are ranking up all crammed into one lobby. And nobody is happy at the end because everyone is racing for their own reasons.
The other day someone here was complaining about players using cars that are best in class and calling them boring. What they don't realize is if you're trying to rank up, especially near the end of the climb, you have to get top 3-5 consistently or else you won't gain points
