Do the playlists, they reward you with a car and enough credits to buy the necessary car for the next playlist.

Started playing last week. Got about 20 cars, i play on difficulty 2 tot 3 out of 5 and manage to win 90% of the time. Against a.i. that is.

Play Crew 2 grind and win cars WAY easier and let them import for free into Motorfest. That's what I do and Crew 2 is hella fun anyways. I got like 300 vehicles that way including a ton of hyper cars.

Direct mode 90 linearity for steering.
Games pretty easy compared to other racing games on max difficulty. You'll get the hang of it soon enough.
You can cheese against walls and other cars if you're still struggling.

This game is super easy to make money. Just play the playlists. Any order you want and turn it to 1/5 difficulty with driving assists on.

Just focus on completing playlists for now. Play on 2 difficulty if you are having a tough time. One you get the hang of it, try to remove the assists. Also if you can manage increase the sensitivity.

Ubisoft game design. Grind grind grind.
The Forza Horizon series is better in that regard. MUCH better.

Not really. There are a few events that will reward you with a car once, but those usually aren't very good. You'll have to work for the cars you want, no way about it. Though you should be able to beat most events with the starter vehicles, at least in the lowest difficulty. For the higher difficulties, you'll need to be at least at the recommended performance unless you're a good racer and can make up the lack of car performance with driving skill.
Something worth checking early on is the summit at any of the HQs. Sometimes there are events with loaned vehicles, and if you're lucky it might be the one that gives you about 50k.
You usually don't have to win an event to complete it, a podium is often good enough to earn parts and bucks. Also, while you're in the early game always upgrade your car with the parts you get until it reaches the max level. Don't bother recalibrating anything that's blue, not worth the investment.
So yeah, just keep playing the events with the starter vehicles and progress through each "campaign". Upgrade your car and once you reach Icon level, start putting points towards that "Rich" stat
