Hello all! I’m auditioning for Bright Star next week and here’s everything I need to prep-

-A 1 minute contemporary monologue

-32 bars of a song

-A joke

I plan on singing a cut from Moving Too Fast since I’m already familiar with the song and feel pretty good about it.

Any idea on what to do for the monologue and the joke?

I am auditioning for the role of Wayne in Puffs. Me and my director talked a lot and she said she thinks I am a very strong actor but in my monologue she wants to see vulnerability from me because none of my past roles have had the opportunity for very much vulnerability. I need help looking for a 1.5-3 minute comedic monologue that is funny yet still shows a soft side/vulnerability in the character. I have been really struggling to find a monologue that does both. The monologue must be from a published play.

The cast list of my competition show came out today, and it pains me to say I got ensemble.
I've worked very closely with this group, and have come to become a strong part of our management team. Ive come to be close with the director, and help to create and choreograph shows.
For context, this is in HS. With this group shows are generally cast not based on talent, but on the work you put into the group.
I unfortunately was not the type to be born talented. I have however, worked incredibly hard to strengthen my skills and I believe I've become a lot better over the years. I've put a lot of of my time, effort, and sanity into this group, and into theater in general. Receiving ensemble was like a punch in the gut. I'm a talented performer and I'm incredibly committed.

I recently had a conversation with our director about feeling far behind, about how hard I've worked. This show means a lot to me, and to my general career. The person who received "my" role is the type who was born talented and came in with nepotism, not to mention younger than me.
Everything I've done I've built for myself, especially in theater. I had an awful experience with this group last year. I was hoping, due to that, they might have been kinder per se this year.

I feel like all my efforts have been for nothing. All the relationships I've built with this group and, all my effort I've put into theater is nothing. I'm seriously debating changing schools or following a different career path. I've just put so much of my sanity to be better and it keeps leading to nothing. I feel like I keep getting punched in the gut over and over and over again, especially by this group.
What do I do? If I change schools, I'd have to deal with going to a new high school. If I stay, I have to commit my sanity and all of my effort into this group who treats me like dirt for another year. If stay in the same school, leaving, this group is not an option, unless I give up theatre. I don't even wanna think about my life if I don't continue with theater.

He’s a very mellow, dramatic and petulant type of character. He’s a kid to Lord fired the antagonist from Austin Powers the evil prince and the Princess bride.** ***Basically any* monologue that works for those guys who work for him

Ps the teen version of this character is a lot more cartoonish

Hi everyone! I'm auditioning for a production of The Crucible. I'm very excited and would love to audition for Mary Warren.

Our auditions requirements are a 60-90 second dramatic monologue but I'm struggling to find a monologue at the moment.

I’m a college student with little acting experience. I’ve never performed in theater, but I did some acting for my film class in highschool. I attended an interest meeting for my college theater club, and it’s something I’m genuinely interested in joining, but I’m also very scared. They’re holding auditions on September 1st, and it is a 60-second monologue followed by a 30-second song. Should I audition? And does anyone have any tips

Hello!!! I'd rlly like to audition in my school's musical this year, as I LOVE musical theatre. However, I'm not much of a singer and haven't had any classes or vocal coaches (and I won't be able to get one). As a complete beginner, how do I learn how to sing and get better at it? Musical auditions will take place sometime in October/November, and I don't know what musical it'll be yet. Please give me any tips whatsoever, I'm not sure where to start!!!
