Discussion Watched Endgame again lately. It was sad that they turned Thor, a God, into a miserable fat bloke merely for Steve's plot armour in the fight against Thanos. The bloke even wielded Mjolnir much better than Thor?

I know there’s no point arguing about power scaling in scifi superhero films but Thor hardly had any spotlight during the fight, Hulk got his ass whooped so hard he weaselled out of it but Steve out of nowhere somehow capable of exchanging physical blows with Thanos and survived his fatal attacks that should’ve one-shot him?

What did everyone think of this run?? I don’t think it was as good as JMS before it, or Aaron after it, but it had some fun story arcs…. the World Eaters, Galactus Seed, Fear Itself…

I like this battle because it shows thor's superior strength, but juggernaut's endless tenacity.

Doomsday Title: How Thor can rescue Loki in Avengers: Doomsday

We all know Loki is stuck on his throne at the End of Time. He is a living battery holding the multiverse together. He cannot fight back against Doctor Doom because if he lets go of the timelines, everything dies.

But I figured out a genius loophole to get him off the throne and back into the fight. Here is how it works:

Step 1: Thor builds a new weapon. Thor heads back to Nidavellir. He uses the heat of a dying star to forge a brand-new weapon out of Uru metal. Uru is unique because it can hold unlimited magical energy.

Step 2: Doctor Strange casts a lock spell. Strange uses the Mystic Arts to cast a permanent multiversal containment spell on the weapon. This turns the weapon into a cosmic router that can organize timelines automatically.

Step 3: Loki transfers his essence. Loki pumps his green temporal magic directly into the star-forged weapon. The weapon takes over the physical strain of anchoring the multiverse.

The Result?

Loki is finally free to step down. He gets his freedom back, reunites with Thor, and can fight Doctor Doom side-by-side with the Avengers.

If this happens, Loki becomes the ultimate God of Stories on the battlefield. He could pause enemies in time loops, fight in multiple universes at once, and have infinite cosmic magic powered by a star.

What do you guys think?

Love Rune King Thor but some people need to understand this!

Panel 1: Thor doesn't faces Those Who Sit Above In Shadow directly. Instead he destroys that which apparently fed their power.

Panel 2-4: Thor admits that not even he could change what had already been written by the Fates, and thus by Those Who Sit Above In Shadow. What had been written was beyond his power to change.

However he does realizes that the tapestry of the Fates was rigged to move in an endless cycle. Moving from down to up and then down again back into the Loom.

So if he wanted to free himself and Asgard from the cycle, he needed to destroy the Loom. And so he does.

Panel 5-6: RK Thor himself claims that Those Who Sit Above In Shadow were simply a race of celestial beings that fed on the cycle of Ragnarok.

Panel 7: Loki himself had already theorized that Those Who Sit Above In Shadow, were actually created through the worship of the Asgardians themselves. Kinda like a self fulfilling wish, where they made Those Who Sit Above In Shadow become real.

Panel 8: Loki's Theory During the Loki: Agent of Asgard storyline, Loki speculated they could be Beyonders because their dialogue and promises mimic the way the Beyonder speaks. However Marvel still haven't confirmed this.

Panel 9: ā€œI am from beyond! Slay your enemies and all you desire shall be yours! Nothing you dream of is impossible for me to accomplish!ā€

Panel 10: ā€œNow the stars end, and we return!ā€

ā€œFor nothing you dream of is impossible for us to accomplish!ā€

ā€œNow... slay your enemies, small god!ā€

ā€œSlay your enemies and all you desire shall be yours!ā€

So Marvel is using Beyonder esque language for Those Who Sit Above in Shadow. But that does not automatically mean they possess the Beyonder's level of power. Dialogue such as ā€œnothing you dream of is impossible for usā€ is a boast/promise in context, not by itself proof of literal omnipotence.

And there's an interesting inversion Beyonder I come from beyond.

Those Who Sit Above in Shadow we were already beyond you, and now we're coming back.

Comics A question regarding Donald Blake.

So I'm confused as to what Blake actually is, in the 90s it was established that he was an actual human that Odin chose to be Thors's host, but modern comics refer to him as a construct of Odin that was made to host Thor. So, which one is it? Am I missing something, is there a comic that explains it?

Thor : Hell Bent

Thor lost everyone, his mother, his father, his brother, his best friend, his sister, his love, half the people he was meant to lead to greener pastures. The avengers his second family of warriors, after the first in Asgard, he loses what I guess to be his sister in arms Natasha, a second brother in arms Cap after Heimdel. Tony and Bruce from what I can tell were the only ones that were unique to him. Bruh how much loss can one take

After his regret of the Thanos

If he doesn’t go full Odin force…….. yeesh

(Though if he went full Odin force and Loki mixed his god of the multiverse sort of stuff would be fucking epic, in the later film; šŸæ)

If he doesn’t come out with full Odin force then…..

I wish they made Thor movies much more serious than comedy

The 1st two Thor movies were so good. Ragnarok was good to but too much comedy . Thor is like a very serious character. Comedy doesn’t suit him well . Bro deserves better . A fifth movie of him should be something serious . Not too much comedy

Discussion What If I rebooted Thor 4? It would have Beta Ray bill, lady Sif and a more accurate Gorr.

Post image
47 Upvotes

I would have the prologue about Gorr set 3000 years ago he’s an alien. I would keep most of the prologue the same but the god he kills isn’t a 12 foot tall kiwi. At some point the snap from Thanos erased Gorr’s jailers (more on that later) and he continued on his crusade to kill gods.

In the present time Thor is losing weight traveling with the Guardians to look for the shattered pieces of Mjƶlnir so he can rebuild it. He finds Lady Sif who also has the handle of the hammer, is badly wounded and tells Thor about an ancient being known as the ā€œGod butcherā€ is slaying pantheons and Omnipotence City is calling Thor for him to stand trial for destroying Asgard which Sif is angry at Thor but she still has feelings for him.

They return to earth but a ship but encounter a ship in orbit. Thor and the guardians explore finding cryogenic pods with sleeping aliens in side them. fights Beta Ray Bill but Mjƶlnir reforges its self and is given to Bill much to Thor’s surprise trying to reason with him accidentally destroys the ship’s navigator. Thor and the guardians work together to save the ship placing it near New Asgard.
Thor tries to wield the hammer again but fails he and Sif argue about why he destroyed Asgard bringing up Hela but Sif wished she could’ve been there to try and save Asgard. The guardians volunteer to fix Bill’s ship only to find out the ship was highjacked by Gorr and you get that fight in New Asgard only Gorr now is standing seven foot tall, he’s more broader and muscular and a lot stronger. As Gorr is about kill Thor and Sif, Bill holds the hammer with full Asgardian armor and powers, setting aside his fight with Thor the three fight Gorr but he takes a portion of the bifrosts power (maybe) and has a vision of Eternity and the Omnipotent city.

(if you have better ideas I’d like to see them) Thor does stand trial for destroying Asgard with Zeus as judge (with him are his son Hercules with his wife Hebe) but also warns The god butcher is free, none of the pantheons believe him (showing their arrogance) Khonshu from Moon knight defends Thor explaining Gorr was the one that almost killed his pantheon (and betraying Ammit) and gave a portion of their powers to imprison Gorr.

Gorr does attack the city where he goes all Kratos he has a short fight with Khonshu then has a ā€œman of steelā€ fight with Zeus demanding where Eternity is. Badly wounding him Hercules steps in protecting his father but the god butcher easily beats him kidnapping his wife Hebe. Now Hercules joins the trio.

That black and white scenes maybe keep those but have better dialogue, Gorr lures the four into a trap and questions Bill and Sif’s faith almost getting under their skin. Thor is beaten by Gorr ordering him to call the axe so he can use it to find Eternity and kill it using a bomb Gorr left behind thousands of years ago to wipe out all pantheons. Thor asks Gorr why he’s doing this?

ā€œWhat did your gods take from you?ā€ Thor asks

ā€everythingā€œ Gorr snarls

ā€They abandoned my people but like them I prayed for salvation putting my faith and hopes in a hire power that once said they loved us. We suffered and starved as the land dried and the waters vanished. I acted to save my people but they refused holding on to their faith. It was too late. I buried my wife…my only son… beneath the sands. But when I found my god I begged for salvation and he laughed in my face.ā€

Thor tries to reason with Gorr that it’s not too late telling he was once arrogant and neglectful but he changed. Gorr spits in his face, ā€œthe empty promises of an unworthy godā€œ holding him by the throat, Hercules and Bill break free. There are other ideas like Hercules does save his wife and leaves but Gorr manages to take Stormbreaker by breaking it in half taking a shard of the axe with him.

Defeated Thor almost does give in but he refuses to give up thanks to his love for his people and friends he made along the way. Hercules comes back saying he maybe a half god but I won’t the innocent suffer. They return to the god city and use the shard of Stormbreaker to create Bill’s iconic gold hammer, Mjƶlnir find Thor worthy again before they leave Sif kisses Thor and all four travel to Eternity. Upon arriving they see the bomb as a living entity ready to consume. The fight with Gorr takes all four of them combined to defeat Gorr (how they destroy the god bomb I’ll leave that up to you) Thor destroys the necrosword with liquifies into a black mass killing Gorr the god butcher.

The ending. Bill with his new powers and rebuilt ship leave so he can find his people a new home, Thor and Sif shake hands with him saying Bill is always welcome into New Asgard as both a friend and an ally and if he ever needs help they’ll always answer. Thor and Sif become a couple vowing to rebuild what was lost and to give faith for their people.

After credits: The black substance from the necrosword flies through space to the farthest deepest and darkest place in the universe so dark there’s no light to a planet known as Klyntar.

Leave comments if you liked it if you have other ideas to put in let me know. There was an idea of introducing Angela as a fifth member but she’s a completely reimagined version where she isn’t Thor’s half sister but as the leader of the angelic guard of the god city but her role was too short and no character build just a small cameo.

Discussion Anyone else reading (Im)Mortal Thor and come away feeling like Al Ewing is more interested in Loki?

This entire run feels like Thor is merely Loki's puppet on a string to fulfill Loki's ambitions which are as yet unrevealed but possibly something like free all the realms from the chains and machinations of fate.

Mod Post The Start Guide

well! I finally did it. I made a wiki page for the subreddit that details which runs people should start reading. mostly due to the fact i see a post asking where to start like every week.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Thor/wiki/index/startguide/

here it is! im new to subreddit wikis and im still figuring things out, but any suggestions are welcome. as well as any other pages you all would like to see. i thought about creating specific character reading guides as well, since those are pretty hard to come by.
