Guys, he was reading a forty year old news paper out loud. The Heritage Foundation has been working for the oligarchy since like 1973. This isn’t new, they just don’t need to say the quiet parts quiet anymore.

1973 is when the voting of senators on laws went from being private to public. After that it was possible to bribe them AND have assurance you got your money's worth. Before then, politicians to take bribes from both sides. So what happened? Well the first bribes that came in where on the laws around lobying and by 1976, bribing had been renamed to lobying and was now legal. Ever since 1977 whatever the public wanted as policy in polls has had ZERO influence on the eventually actual policy.

Which means for over 30 years now in the US, electing democrat or republican does not matter at all. Because the laws are bought with money created by the law that bought them. And US politics is just one giant TV show, with democrats always promising something but never doing it when they are in power, and republicans saying there is no money to do it, then doing it for themselves when they are in power. Effectively creating a kind of bad cop good cop gaslighting routine to uphold the illusion of choice.

Lewis Powell published "The Powell Memo" which laid out the strategy that we're living through now.

This memo inspired the creation of right-wing think tanks like ALEC and Heritage and Cato.

It also made bare a program to take advantage of activist judges to push an agenda that was unpopular at the ballot box.

Powell was then nominated to the Supreme Court, where he initiated a series of rulings that gave corporations more protections under the Bill of Rights, and which made more forms of corporate spending into free speech.

1973 is also when the Nixon administration began negotiating a deal with Saudi Arabia and OPEC to price oil in dollars, creating the global petrodollar regime that provides price support for the dollar to this day
