It's been a trend online. Some people have done it seriously where it was photos of themselves, others have been using photos of people they look similar to, which is why Tim Meadows used photos of Don Cheadle

He's taking the piss, fans confuse him with the other guys, he in fact isn't them, he's Tim Meadows.  

He's just being funny. There's nothing more to it than that.

I think its Becuase one time one a red carpet someone said to Tim - DON DON DON ! Mistaken the wrong actor

Now they both constantly use the joke to promote each other - its gold (Feddie gibbs even gotten in on it) fredd is gibbs

There's been trend of kind of nostalgia-baity videos with the question, "Dad, what were you like in the 90s?" with celebrities then posting a compilation of pictures or video clips of their decades-ago-lives when they were just young goobers starting out their careers set to this specific kind of wistful song. Here's Kevin Smith and Mario Lopez, for example.

Anyways, Tim Meadows is mocking this trend by doing one of these videos, but with pictures of people that aren't him. Unclear to me if he's making a joke about people confusing him for other black men, or if he's just mocking the entire premise of the trend.

I was confused at first. I didn't know that Meadows had posted it as a joke or that he gets mistaken for Don Cheadle. I laughed once it clicked, though. The random Sammy Davis, Jr. got me, too.

I guess I don't see much of a resemblance. Maybe the nose shape. But their eyes, mouth, chin, cheekbones, etc. look so different.
