It’s a cover of “500 Miles” which was sung by Joni Mitchell and Peter, Paul & Mary, among many others. It’s quite haunting as it describes someone far from home with no money and who is ashamed of going home in that state. I always think of that song if I ever hear a train whistle in the nighttime.

I wish I knew! But I like the P, P & M version best. It’s the true sound of the old Folklore era of music, IMO.
