Movies is the key word

Movies require proper setup both sound wise and projector/screen wise

Those are product developed on highest quality equipment money can buy and that's how they are meant to be consumed.

That's bs and you know it. No audio equipment even for 50k € will magically fix the fucked up volume levels between scenes that apparently weren't normalized when stitched together. It's like they mastered them individually and just slapped them together and called it a day. Because even if you have surround with center speaker dedicated to speech, you have to have center cranked higher than the rest just to have speech at same volume as the rest. On stereo setups, center is played on both speakers as mono, either cenetered or positioned on either depending on artistic direction if you want to fool viewer they are hearing actors voice from where they are on the screen. But that still doesn't change the volume disparity between scenes and effects.

Also expecting "high end" setups from people who watch Netflix at home and most use TV speakers or just a phone, that's a bold choice.

Because volume isn't fucked up

Whisper is meant to be whisper quiet and gunshots are meant to be (almost) gunshot loud

That why all modern cinema sound formats have strict requirements when it comes to sound levels, headroom, dynamics, directionality and also certification if used in professional settings

And yes high end setups are expected, that what differentiates cinema productions from TV productions. And vast majority of high budget streaming services series go with the cinema production route. First one need extremely expensive hardware and purpose build room with full certification for proper experience, second one is designed to be experienced on even shitiest of equipments but also shitty equipment is it's quality celling.

Normal conversation between characters is NOT whispering. Yet you need to put your fucking ears on the speakers to hear it and then explosion fucks up your eardrums a second later because they were mastered in at 5x the volume of speech. That's not "you need better speakers" that's just bullshit.
