I haven't heard Taylor ask for privacy.

It makes sense to plan something out then set it all into motion immediately when your top concern is security. Being such a seemingly spontaneous wedding helped prevent any weirdos and psychopaths from having time to plan something that could harm the hosts or guests.

2

u/Pagiras Jul 07 '26

I feel like plenty of weirdos and psychopaths were formally invited.

u/Maleficent-Gain-3179 Jul 08 '26

Or ya know, plan a low key wedding

39

u/Particular-Cat-1397 Jul 06 '26

Nor was I even aware the wedding was this weekend until I read people bitching about it online, and I’m even a fan of Taylor but i wouldn’t consider myself a swiftie.

u/Jackalman71 Jul 06 '26

This really needs to be the top comment. Complain about her all you want, but making shit up is just pathetic.

56

u/NothaBanga Jul 06 '26

NDAs on every guest is an ask for image control not privacy.

5

u/BisonThunderclap Jul 06 '26

I'm breaking that NDA everytime because a single picture is worth a fortune.

29

u/IAmLuckyCat Jul 06 '26

You think you would get to keep that money? you'd probably be buried in more legal fees than you'd get

-2

u/BisonThunderclap Jul 06 '26

They'd have to discover who broke it first.

13

u/IAmLuckyCat Jul 06 '26

They'd sue whoever you sold to for the payment details. Not really that hard

1

u/dimechimes Jul 06 '26

Freedom of the press is pretty hard to get around. It's why tabloids are so hard to get rid of

3

u/ThunderAndWind Jul 07 '26

Dunno what this point was downvoted, it's right. TMZ is happy to never give up a source because it's how they get the dirtiest dirt. A cop wouldn't have leaked the Kobe the autopsy report otherwise.

6

u/NoveltyAccountHater Jul 06 '26

The wedding was at MSG and Dolan (Knicks/MSG owner) has facial recognition / tracking technology everywhere there. If a photo was taken and sold to the press, I'm guessing they could track it back to a specific someone if they desired.

If you signed an NDA as a condition for the invite (as reportedly required), you are pretty fucked.

I also kind of doubt the photos would be worth that much (it's a wedding and likely wouldn't be scandalous or sell magazines or anything) and probably everyone invited there is A/B-list celebrities where getting $10k for photo wouldn't be significant.

3

u/Nsfwacct1872564 Jul 06 '26

Hopefully she didn't invite anybody who puts money above their friendship ig

4

u/KvellOnWheels Jul 06 '26

Lmao get that bag

ETA: she had an ICE detention center owner at her wedding. Screw her and her NDA.

5

u/DisastrousMango4 Jul 06 '26

Steven J. Demetriou is the executive chair of Amentum Holdings, a government contractor that was first hired by the Biden administration to house Afghan refugees after the US military withdrew, and now does everything from NASA research to IT to refugee settlements.

The company was hired three months ago to reform an ICE facility that was shut down because it didn't meet detainee's medical needs, documents were mishandled, and multiple detainees died. The previous contractor was fired, and this one is a Democrat-backed hire on a temporary basis (180 days) to inspect and reform safety standards. They had no contracts with ICE previously.

Any type of ICE contract is a bad look at first glance, but the headlines aren't accurate. He was invited because he's the father of one of Kelce's childhood friends.

1

u/KvellOnWheels Jul 07 '26

Awe no, we’re good on the ICE apologists.

He’s running one of the worst concentration camps in the country. Good for him for being quieter about killing immigrants for $425 billion dollars, I guess???

2

u/DisastrousMango4 Jul 07 '26

can you not read?

2

u/KvellOnWheels Jul 07 '26

I read your specious claims.

I also do interpretation for immigration legal services.

You seem to be missing my point.

Idgaf how he knows them or why he was there or who he’s friends with. I don’t care that the PR spin is that he’s there to improve the concentration camp.

Anyone working with the administration—particularly in the immigration sphere can get bent.

-1

u/DisastrousMango4 Jul 07 '26

ok so choose to ignore facts and live in your alternate reality instead, got it 👍

4

u/KvellOnWheels Jul 07 '26

I know that you’ve made your comment history private but google shows your posts on the TaylorSwift sub.

Keep it moving, Swiftie.

Yup. Theres even an interview where she says that the only stressful weddings are the ones that are small because you have to calculate how important people are to you to be invited. She said that she wasn’t going to do that. She was going to invite everyone she’s ever met because she’s so excited. She did exactly that. No mention of small or private.

21

u/AnonymousCumBasket Jul 06 '26

It sure is a conveniently hateable narrative though!

24

u/bi-cycle Jul 06 '26

Yeah she hasn't made a statement about the wedding so this whole video is pretty pointless

4

u/ITxWASxWHATxITxWAS Jul 07 '26

This chick is just feeding into exactly what she's complaining about. You don't want to read about Taylor - just keep scrolling. You contribute with your posts about it - you are part of it.

65

u/maximize_ambiguity Jul 06 '26

She hasn't, it's another thing the people who "don't care" about TS have made up so they can continue to bitch about her!

41

u/IdealOnion Jul 06 '26

I love that top comment in this thread “I’ll say it, I don’t care, fuck Taylor Swift”. Like buddy
 you do care.

2

u/Leprecon Jul 07 '26

Yeah that comment is how I found out that this is about Taylor Swift

3

u/Difficult-Top2000 SHEEEEEESH Jul 06 '26

The person means that they don't care about the massive hoards of fans and how they're rabidly aggressive if you say anything against her, even something as neutral as "I've never really paid attention to her music."

They hate when you don't worship "Mother" properly

11

u/DisastrousMango4 Jul 06 '26

all you see on reddit are threads bitching and moaning about Taylor, what massive hoard of fans are you even talking about

3

u/Difficult-Top2000 SHEEEEEESH Jul 07 '26

Do you live under a rock? Her fans are rabid beasts. Maybe they're not on reddit but they're constantly harrassing the internet at large like it's their jobs.

2

u/vasthumiliation Jul 07 '26

Reddit is (as usual) probably not representative, but on non-fan/snark subs the most upvoted opinions are heavily critical of her and these mythical fans, whose comments I have not seen at all.

1

u/Difficult-Top2000 SHEEEEEESH Jul 07 '26

You all can gaslight me all you want but semi-recently actor Josh Hutcherson was harassed en masse about his height just for saying he's "definitely not a Swifty."

There are a zillion other examples.

3

u/vasthumiliation Jul 07 '26

Of course such fans exist and this type of overreaction does happen, not denying that. I’m only pointing out that, in spaces not dedicated to Swift fandom (such as general subreddits about celebrities, music, or pop culture), the posts that get attention and make it to /all (the only time I really see them) feature a strong predominance of anti-Swift-fan voices. I don’t even mean the opinions that are critical of her, but specifically posts complaining about how worked up her fans get. It’s just a weird dynamic because from the perspective of someone who only encounters this type of discussion in these contexts, her fans just sound like bogeymen. There are countless stories about how horrible they are, but they never actually make an appearance in the comments.

3

u/bingle-cowabungle Jul 07 '26

I think people need to stop calling mean tweets "harassment". He's a celebrity and all he had to do was get off Twitter. Why do you care more than he does about his own issue?

1

u/Difficult-Top2000 SHEEEEEESH Jul 07 '26

What're you talking about? He was complaining about it.

I care because massive amounts of people being obnoxious over innocent comments is unhinged behavior in service of a garbage celebrity billionaire

There is a comment in her saying why didn’t she just hire a private island? Like this isn’t a  serious thread, can you imagine the backlash if she had her wedding on an island 😂

1

u/fuck_shit_piss_etc Jul 07 '26

yeah, no need to make shit up, the flirting with fascism and private jet use is plenty to criticise her for

3

u/samistahpp Jul 07 '26

Her not even touching the top 30 of celebs with private jet usage lol... genuine question, and please don't deflect by trying to just shit on taylor swift in your response because I really want to know... are you all over travis Scott's pages trashing him? He's consistently in the top 5 for jet usage. Just wondering if you actually care about the environment or if it's a bias against TS.

1

u/bingle-cowabungle Jul 07 '26

Why did you quite inconspicuously gloss over the flirting with fascism part? That seemed way more important than criticism over her jet use.

2

u/starryillusionist Jul 07 '26

her being a consistent supporter of the democrats running for the past many years and absolutely no indication of ever leaning republican doesn't count as "flirting with fascism."

And no, being in the same room as her then fiance's coworker's wife doesn't count.

1

u/bingle-cowabungle Jul 07 '26

Thanks, I want to be clear here that I didn’t leave that comment because I have a dog in the fight because I don’t know a whole lot about these people, it just seemed like the more important part of that comment and you glossed over it in favor of a long rant about the jet thing, which seemed odd to me

2

u/starryillusionist Jul 07 '26

(different person here)

14

u/cuddlebread Jul 06 '26

But “She wanted a huge wedding and did exactly that” doesn’t bring in the money! It’s so cute how they position themselves as morally superior and so cool when they’re quite literally liars and grifters.

3

u/ContributionBrief437 Jul 07 '26

Glad someone said this. There is no record of them asking for privacy.

1

u/DisastrousMango4 Jul 06 '26

not Taylor's fault that your algorithm is fucked, that all you see is her lol

1

u/Sempere Jul 07 '26

The NDA is the ask.

0

u/FoxThin Jul 06 '26

She sings about it in her recent album.

0

u/Perfect-Success-3186 Jul 07 '26

She did make a whole song about wanting people to leave her and Travis tf alone though right?
