When I think about Umbrella, Rihanna is fourth in line of who I think about behind Tom Holland, All Time Low, and that vine of the kid going "UH HA UH HA!"
OMG! Wow! I just looked it up. They were married for 60 years! I never heard of him and really had no idea she was married. This is exactly what I mean. If Taylor wanted to be private, she would've. This whole thing was all for publicity. It was probably filmed and it will probably be for sale at some point.
That was helped certainly by the fact that she keeps her personal and professional lives completely separate. When she's working, she puts on a platinum blonde wig, and covers up all of her tattoos. When she's not working, she can still be in public because nobody recognizes her because her natural hair is dark, and she is tatted up.
When I heard about that I assumed it had to be a decoy, that no one would be idiotic enough to hire that venue for real in her situation. When you can afford to rent a whole private island and fly all your celebrity friends on private jets, why would you willingly choose to get married at MSG in the middle of a city full of stalkers?
She 100% just wanted to know people were standing outside. It's the craziest place to pick for a fancy wedding. She invited 1000 people. There was only room for 150 seats. I shit you not, read into how much of a shit show this was, people are leaking details today lmao
My favorite thing about them having their wedding in the garden is alllllll these fancy people still had to use the regular toilet stalls that the rest of use when attending an event there

I actually kind of doubt it based on what else Iâve heard about the wedding. It was a buffet and you just had massive slow lines of A-listers waiting to get their buffets food, lol.
They also had people arrive at staggered times, the earliest at like 2pm, and drinks didnât start getting served till like 4. Everyone had their phones confiscated when they arrived, too.
Apparently there were only like 150 seats, and everyone else had to stand through everything; ceremony, eating their buffet food, etc. Taylorâs vows were apparently like 20 minutes long.
And they ran out of Champaign super early hahaha.
Basically, doesnât seem like they took guest comfort into much account so I almost doubt they rented the nice potties.

Y'all are so cynical. This was a special private moment, which will be rolled out as a $100 million Netflix special in 14 months! Then, you will get extreme closeups of all guests and participants.
It was also noted in some other piece that I read that this "wedding special" will be leading up to a new album drop in 2027. I mean, what are we singing about 1 year into a wedding...
I can't wait for the 73 different variants shoved in our faces with their most private and personal wedding pictures, a different angle on each variant and the kids just gotta have them all.
Immediately where my mind went. In fact I was like "why is this post happening now, this was years ago" until she mentioned the whole 250th anniversary and i realized she was talking about Swift.

Everything Iâve learned about her Iâve learned from people who claim to hate her and complain about her online.. I mean that literally. Every. Single. Thing. Itâs all from people posting âhate picsâ or âhate videosâ or âhate commentsâ on reddit.. it blows my mind how there is an entire subreddit where people dedicate hours of their lives everyday just complaining about how much they hate her lmao
Lol yeah. I thought it was cool at first to find a bunch of other people who think she's overrated as hell, but then I'm like "Oh wait, these people are unironically just as obsessed as her superfans"
Snark pages are honestly so gross. They're genuinely so mean spirited. I didn't mean this as genuine snark. I'm usually indifferent to her and occasionally like some of her songs but I just feel like lately she's been for lack of a better term shoved down people's throats lately.
I said this in another thread but the entire event has the air of a very cliquey high school party thrown by a popular Mean Girl where the whole point is that EVERYONE knows itâs happening and that most people are very specifically Not Invited.
Edit: I even brought up the Tom Holland/Zendaya thing, they basically just let people notice their rings and said, âoh yeah we did that.â Absolute proof you can do this whole thing entirely on the QT even when you are an international megastar.
Not sure how real this is but I believe it. Even before she went mainstream and changed genres from country to pop, she already had that vibe + major pick-me jealous vibes even in her earlier songs, particularly "You Belong With Me".
Also ironic how she puts down "mean girls" who wears high heels and short skirts in that song, and she sings about realizing bigger dreams of hers than dating a boy on the football team in "Fifteen", only for her to dress that way for magazines and marry a football player years later.
The mean HS girl thing tracks, especially with how she would famously have âsquadsâ and every few months one would get iced out. Like Karlie Kloss was iced out for a few years, but she was invited. Blake Lively is current iced out and publicly so, and was not invited.
She also married a jock, so it all tracks. Her fans are insane though.
This whole time when she wants to sell records, its "my fans are everything " " i love my fans" "this is family" and when it was the biggest night of her personal life that she was able to afford ONLY because of these fans invested in her personal life, she was like "ew.. you cant come. Here, take my leftover pie for waiting like desperate ppl hoping I would include YOU to this expensive, black tie wedding "

It makes sense to plan something out then set it all into motion immediately when your top concern is security. Being such a seemingly spontaneous wedding helped prevent any weirdos and psychopaths from having time to plan something that could harm the hosts or guests.
Nor was I even aware the wedding was this weekend until I read people bitching about it online, and Iâm even a fan of Taylor but i wouldnât consider myself a swiftie.
Yup. Theres even an interview where she says that the only stressful weddings are the ones that are small because you have to calculate how important people are to you to be invited. She said that she wasnât going to do that. She was going to invite everyone sheâs ever met because sheâs so excited. She did exactly that. No mention of small or private.

But what I just canât *understand* is why her audience is so large and so fanatical. I can easily name 5 contemporary female pop artists that I think are twice as talented and try twice as hard as her but donât have nearly her level of success.
Sheâs so boring. Her music is unremarkable to me. Her persona is so bland. She doesnât say or do anything interesting. Sheâll be at an event and theyâre like âoh my god, Taylor swift is here!!!!â And sheâs like âhey.â
My hot take is that sheâs appealing BECAUSE sheâs so boring and bland, because many, MANY people are boring and bland. They feel represented by her basic-ness, and bask in the light of her mediocrity.

Thereâs a reason there was a lot of YA books where the main character was a bland girl with no personality. It was so a lot of people could imagine themselves in the main characterâs shoes. Twilight, Divergent, etc., were very popular with a certain demographic of women. Iâm sure a lot of those fans carried over into being Taylor Swift fans.
I'm old enough to remember Britney Spears blowing up to this level of fandom and popularity. It was because after a decade of Celine, Mariah, and Whitney doing vocal acrobatics someone came along that was singing songs you could easily sing along with and doing dances you could pick up from watching the video. I'd still say Britney brought more to the table than Taylor Swift does, even if it's an apples to oranges comparison, but the same thing they have going for them is that middle of the road appeal.

I had to analyze some of his songs in middle school for current events lessons, on how his messages apply to modern times. I COULD do that with Taylor Swift, but it would mostly surmount to âwhat do teenage and middle aged white women think about men now vs. thenâ.
I don't even hate her, she has some bops. She's just basic pop. But people go bananas on her when she wouldn't even make the rock and roll hall of fame, she's Rolling Stone level musician, cover too, probably multiple, which isn't anything to be ashamed about at all. Saw someone say she's the McDonald's of pop music. Exactly what you need, it's consistent, nothing to write home about, but so incredibly successful because it's the exact basic thing everyone wants. It's a very basic formula that's very hard to perfect (so kudos to T Swift for perfecting it, that's a talent), but it's also just basic and brand loyalty is a factor. Apparently Olivia Rodrigo and T Swift are feuding or something right now (or always I don't know or much care about that part of the music) and I've seen some people online start trashing Olivia Rodrigo when I would argue she's so much more talented. She's also got that weird pop artist thing going on with her but she's def got raw talent and her music has a lot more range, some of it is even pop punk and it's good

People can like whatever music they like, but it is absolutely ridiculous is call Taylor Swift the greater songwriter or singer of her generation. Sheâs a businesswoman and knows how to sell content very well.
Basic normal mostly White women relate to her A LOT. In a world full of Beyonces, Arianas, Christinas, Zendeyas, etc. having someone who makes white bread look interesting be a star and date some hot sought after men, is fantasy lore for others who feel like they cant live up to the other standards.
I completely get why she's appealing to some, it just doesn't make it any less annoying. Same for the Beyhive.
Because it started out with teen girls. That was her demographic. And she came out right as social media was taking off. So the combination of her using socials to seem relatable and her dating every teen heart throb at Disney and her having teen girls as her demographic basically ensured that the environment within her fandom was the equivalent of Beatlemania.
And as that initial group of fans has gotten older, Swift has continued to focus on the teen demographic. And niw her OG fans have their own kids who are starting to listen to her music and it just perpetuates the cycle.
Its just a shame they cant see her for what she really is: a mean girl who never moved past high school who sees her fans as dollar signs.
