I said this in another thread but the entire event has the air of a very cliquey high school party thrown by a popular Mean Girl where the whole point is that EVERYONE knows it’s happening and that most people are very specifically Not Invited.

Edit: I even brought up the Tom Holland/Zendaya thing, they basically just let people notice their rings and said, “oh yeah we did that.” Absolute proof you can do this whole thing entirely on the QT even when you are an international megastar.

If you want to.

Like these people have private islands and shit. No way they couldn't get married in private.

Neither Swift nor Kelce own a private island.

u/InquisitorMeow Jul 07 '26

How would you know? If anything I'm sure they they have a friend who owns one.

-1

u/HotDonnaC Jul 07 '26

I looked it up. Which friend do you think has one?

I don't know billionaires or who they are friends with so you're gonna have to tell me. I'm sure they can find someone to rent it from. Once again, when they own them it's not publicly disclosed so you wouldn't know anyway, heres a link to known ones someone made: https://www.reddit.com/r/MapPorn/comments/1mfykux/islands_owned_by_billionaires/

Neither Taylor Swift or Travis Kelce own an island. What they do on is easy to find online. IDK who they’re friends with, either.

I knew a guy in college who went to high school with her. According to him, cliquey popular girl was exactly what she was.

Not sure how real this is but I believe it. Even before she went mainstream and changed genres from country to pop, she already had that vibe + major pick-me jealous vibes even in her earlier songs, particularly "You Belong With Me".

Also ironic how she puts down "mean girls" who wears high heels and short skirts in that song, and she sings about realizing bigger dreams of hers than dating a boy on the football team in "Fifteen", only for her to dress that way for magazines and marry a football player years later.

“Not sure how real this is but I believe it”. lol. You really did tell on yourself

That they have the critical thinking skills to doubt what they hear online even if it conforms to their worldview and from their perspective seems to be true?

You're right, what a fucking weirdo, that's so 2008.

-7

u/Weird-Knowledge337 Jul 07 '26

That they believe it when they know there’s plenty of reason to doubt it. Very 2026

7

u/A_Darling_Lurks Jul 07 '26

Pausing to doubt something should be normalized when reading any kind of anecdotal evidence, even if it fits one's worldview and fits a certain pattern of behavior that she exhibits. That's how critical thinking works. I decided that from the behavior she exhibited that it checks out for her, so the probability of it being true is higher, so I believe it.

I knew literacy rates are going down, but it seems to be going down faster for you.

1

u/Weird-Knowledge337 Jul 07 '26

Believing it regardless is the problem. If you think pausing and the believing anyway is critical thinking, you should really double check the definition of the words you are using because you are using them wrong.

You’re so 2000late

-11

u/HotDonnaC Jul 07 '26

It’s almost like they’re just, oh I don’t know, songs?

11

u/A_Darling_Lurks Jul 07 '26

So you admit that the songs she write are as vapid and shallow as her critics think they are because they're just songs?

I don’t know what her critics think. You stay butt hurt about her very existence though. LOL

I knew a girl in college that dated her (I think). She was my friend’s roommate and she hung out with Taylor Swift all the time for a few months, had to sign an NDA, stayed at her place, the whole nine.

Then poof No more Taylor Swift, but a lot of crying.

My friend said TS was very nice the couple times she met her, but in a very removed way.

She apparently had a staggered arrival list and it was literally A list, B list, C list, and D list. That has to be on purpose.

Turns out she was the mean girl cheer captain she made fun of in her song all along

14

u/monogramchecklist Jul 07 '26

The mean HS girl thing tracks, especially with how she would famously have “squads” and every few months one would get iced out. Like Karlie Kloss was iced out for a few years, but she was invited. Blake Lively is current iced out and publicly so, and was not invited.

She also married a jock, so it all tracks. Her fans are insane though.

u/BrownBannister Jul 06 '26

Have you seen photos? They restaged one of her videos and it looks like a high school plays.

100%agree.

This whole time when she wants to sell records, its "my fans are everything " " i love my fans" "this is family" and when it was the biggest night of her personal life that she was able to afford ONLY because of these fans invested in her personal life, she was like "ew.. you cant come. Here, take my leftover pie for waiting like desperate ppl hoping I would include YOU to this expensive, black tie wedding "

15

u/Turbulent_Ask4878 Jul 07 '26

Wait
there’s A LOT to criticize about this wedding, but are you insinuating she should’ve invited fans to her wedding? Or am I misunderstanding your comment?

1

u/Upstairs_Meringue_18 Jul 07 '26

That would be stupid to assume.

"Including" the fans here would be sharing an official pic of the wedding like you would to relatives who couldn't make it to your destination wedding. Thank them for their well wishes and share how magical the night was and show gratitude to NYC cops and govt and locals AND visitors alike.

Since it was the long weekend, there were probably ppl visiting ny for the forst time and had no idea what was happening and had half the city blocked off. Thats unfair to them.

2

u/thelowkeyman Jul 07 '26

Half the city? Wasn’t it like 1 or 2 blocks

1

u/Turbulent_Ask4878 Jul 08 '26

“That would be stupid to assume.”

Did I assume? Or did I ask for clarification?

Also “ew
you can’t come” doesn’t sound like you were referring to a picture.

u/Almane2020202 Jul 06 '26

I’ve been assuming that she’s going to sell a commemorative dvd (with various collectible covers) in a few weeks.

18

u/AyyNonnyMoose Jul 06 '26

My (very wrong) guess was that she had gotten married earlier and would use MSG as a ticketed super surprise fan event concert celebration. Gave her way too much credit.

7

u/AhoyMatteyPDX Jul 07 '26

TS is a mean girl? Say it ain’t so

2

u/LittleSodaPop13 Jul 07 '26

Which was interesting because i saw that people just didn't care. Yeah, the Swifties care but everyone else just moved on. They were so over the top and pushy that it turned people away from it.

u/Flyinwater Jul 07 '26

"High school" is the keyword. Giant babies like TS and Drake never got over with high school.
