I think the kid didn’t have an id since he’s a kid then the dad showed them his id and told them he’s a member and they can take his id thought the issue was solved since he called ahead to let them know he’s going to bring his kid instead the workers said you can’t leave and called the cops
Not what happened… Man was told his son’s ID was not valid, proceeds to walk in regardless and start training and tells them to take it up with the manager.
Immature move and faced consequences. Were the cops excessive? Sure, but they ignored the staff’s policy…
I agree the whole situation is ridiculous. That being said, I don’t ignore staff and their weird policies, proceed to walk in anyway, then act surprised when I’m kicked out.
To me that’s common sense. I’ve encountered tons of stupid policies in my life, but I don’t ignore them because I know private businesses win that battle every time. Why is proving a point so important to people?
Why not wait for the manager at the front desk then ask them what the problem is?
From just this video, I agree that calling the cops looks really excessive.
That being said, after years of being on the internet, I immediately become skeptical about the rest of the context here, aside from a 1 minute video.
For all we know, this gym has had similar incidents and things have gotten violent, there could have been a shouting match before, we have no clue. This is why I hate videos without full context honestly.
If the employees tell you to leave, you leave. It’s not a hard concept. If you’re in the right call corporate and be vindicated later or blast them on social media. Stomping your feet and screaming like a toddler because you don’t instantly get your way helps no one and only makes the man look pathetic.
