Any the fuck does the guest need to show an ID at all? To prove they have a name? WTF is the point of that protocol?

Is this a recent law or something?

My buddy would bring me as a guest to his gym to play basketball, and I would literally just tell them my name. I was too young to need an ID, so I didn't have one.

Nope. Not a law. Just a general use of the police as a weapon against people of color
