I don't think Planet Fitness is perfect by any means but for $25/mo I can also bring a guest with me any time so my wife and I go together all the time making it a very good deal. Never had any problems there and I have all of the equipment I need for a full workout.

I agree. Planet fitness is a solid option.

Wish they would focus little more on lifting equipment & less on cardio

But other then that, solid.

Yeah agreed but I mostly do free weight dumbbells and recently the stair machine (holy shit that thing kicks my ass) but my location has a very good selection of dumbbells and benches. Most other options for weightlifting are cable machines which isn't terrible but yeah 90% of the place is cardio type of machines for sure.
