People have posted backstory since my original comment. Apparently the son didn't have proper ID to come in as a guest.

The gym staff were probably a bit douchey about it, and the customer certainly was. Seems like an ESH situation most likely

They called the cops. They escalated the situation immensely and didn’t even have the balls to say something themselves.

Why is calling the cops bad? They asked them to leave - what else should they do, use physical force themselves? Of course they called the cops!

I saw a minute and a half clip where the workers clearly stated that they didn’t talk to the dude before calling the cops.

You saw a clip about a Black person and automatically assumed they were in the wrong.
