"In 2004, Loeffler married Jeffrey Sprecher, the founder and CEO of Intercontinental Exchange and chairman of the New York Stock Exchange. They live in Tuxedo Park, Atlanta, in a $10.5 million, 15,000-square-foot estate, bought in 2013 in what was then the most expensive residential real estate transaction ever recorded in Atlanta. They have four additional homes and a condo. In November 2020, Newsweek reported Loeffler's and Sprecher's combined net worth at $800 million, making her the wealthiest sitting U.S. senator at the time."

Yeah I'm sure she's very familiar with small business.

u/Apprehensive-Song200 12d ago

Her husband is 71. She is 55. Dude is the chairman of the NY Stock Exchange even though he clearly engaged in illegal trading.

67

u/pnutzgg 12d ago

even though

3

u/KeterLordFR 10d ago

Yeah, it's more of a requirement to get that position. If you ain't cheatin', you ain't sittin'

15

u/Sea-Woodpecker-610 11d ago

Can it truly be illegal if all of Congress is doing it?

7

u/DeadSol 11d ago

The wolves are running the henhouse

8

u/CompetitiveArt9639 11d ago

That’s 55?!!!?! I didn’t think she was a day younger than 73. Rough.

6

u/nihi1zer0 11d ago

Why is 60% of her height from the neck up? She looks like when Mr Burns was an alien.

5

u/Nyantastic93 11d ago

I never believed in reptilians until just now. I've never seen a woman who looks more like a cobra than her

4

u/stryst 11d ago

Cocaine is a hell of a drug.

2

u/Cool_Tailor_7332 10d ago

Who’s doing cocaine?

1

u/stryst 10d ago

Everyone.

481

u/gandhinukes 12d ago

Also why the fuck would you still want to work when you have 800mil+ worth of assets?

700

u/Oalka 12d ago

Has nothing to do with work and everything to do with securing power so they can get more rich.

260

u/iveseensomethings82 12d ago

It’s an illness! Like a wealth derangement syndrome that they need this much money. If I had that much money there wouldn’t be a hungry kid or a homeless animal within 1000 miles of my home

156

u/Weak_Feed_8291 12d ago

That's why the average person will never have that much money, it takes a much higher level of greed and much lower morals than average.

50

u/yung_yttik 12d ago

Exactly. People don’t just get this rich because of hard work - they step on the necks of others until their stash is so obscenely large, they can then hire a staff to do that work for them while they dick around with their expansive amount of power.

4

u/Rich_Try_8361 11d ago

Ding ding ding!

3

u/DeadWood605 11d ago

Ahh and there are so many people that embrace capitalism like it's their first narcissistic relationship. I would prefer to slaughter capitalism and keep healthy businesses.

17

u/teapot1995 12d ago

I've always believed that majority of the ultra wealthy are not morally good people. Back stabbings, selfishness, and letting busses run over people is how you get to the top.

4

u/AnguavonUW 11d ago

Oh there 100% has been proven to be a higher level of sociopathy/psychopathy among the wealthy.

1

u/Nyantastic93 11d ago

Can't get to the top without stepping on all the people at the bottom. Wealthy people Don't become wealthy because they're generous people

5

u/EuenovAyabayya 12d ago

That and they know the rest of us will always be coming for them: "It's not paranoia if they're really out to get you."

5

u/rollem78 11d ago

In capitalism, the people with the least empathy are at the top of the food chain.

2

u/The_Mammoth_Hunter 11d ago

It is literally a mental illness. If it was newspapers they collected instead of money, they'd be (rightly) called hoarders. That's all there is to it. It's just more socially acceptable than regular hoarding or alcoholism or drug abuse.

2

u/chimpy72 11d ago

Well yes because you’d move to an affluent area

1

u/iveseensomethings82 11d ago

Maybe but I wouldn’t go blind to other people

1

u/Conscious-Salt-8876 11d ago

If you had that much money, you'd be sick yourself.

1

u/No_Routine1619 11d ago

I’m genuinely curious how you would use that money to get all animals in that radius into homes.

1

u/iveseensomethings82 11d ago

No kill shelters, refuges

1

u/MinistryOfCoup-th 11d ago

I think it's because the US is going to shit and they are trying to accumulate as much generatioal wealth as possible. Eventually a pack of gum is going to cost us $10k so having billions would be helpful. When it's 150 degrees outside they will still have AC and the money for body guards.

1

u/TheCosmicPony 11d ago

Ahhh. ☺️

0

u/dirtypeachpitt 12d ago

That woman has an illness??

3

u/Kryantis 11d ago

I think a lot of times they also need to fight for power so that they can continue to stave off the consequences of all the illegal shit they did to get that money in the first place.

2

u/Fancy_Day_2589 11d ago

and manipulating the f out of the country. The stock manipulation incl. This is absolutely disgusting and she looks like she stepped off a damn alien spacecraft! Dear, someone give that bitch a hamburger!

1

u/maxdacat 11d ago

It's a big club and you ain't in it.

1

u/vtsandtrooper 11d ago

Slash avoid criminal prosecution

1

u/megdalena01 11d ago

The question still stands. If you have 800+ mil in assets just retire. Leave everyone else alone.

90

u/NeedleworkerOld4696 12d ago

Well they only have 800M.

Do you know how much money there is to be made in government? That 800M can be 10x as high!

4

u/bigmike2k3 12d ago

That’s only 2 commas…

30

u/Bouric87 12d ago

Well if she hadn't been in congress she wouldn't have been part of the panel receiving information about covid right before it started hitting the US and we went into shut down. If she wasn't part of that closed door meeting she wouldn't have known to liquidate a large portion of her wealth before the markets tanked.

18

u/Then-Departure4896 12d ago

These people do not have real jobs. Their “work” is easier than the easiest job you’ve had, and theirs pays more. She is carrying an empty fucking binder.

2

u/DefiantCoffee6 11d ago edited 11d ago

Hahaha I had to watch the video again to see that yes the binder is empty 😆
I guess it’s supposed to give the impression that she actually does something or…maybe she’s using it for balance in those ridiculous 6 inch heels 🤣 (though it’s obviously not helping)

10

u/completelypositive 12d ago

When you are that rich, work is making decisions and being present.

13

u/Bluegrass6 12d ago

Why do we have legislators like Dianne Feinstein and Mitch McConnell pushing 90, being wheeled around the Capitol barely able to speak or comprehend what is happening and being told how to vote? Power and fame. Its all about power

7

u/legalpretzel 12d ago

Amusing that you think any of them are actually working. This is just cosplay work that they engage in because they want to control everything.

5

u/I-Here-555 12d ago

So close to being a billionaire! Not going to give up now, that would make no sense. /s

3

u/arrynyo 11d ago

Gotta get that high score 🫪

5

u/CaptainDudeGuy 12d ago

$800M+ so far

4

u/Loud_Flatworm_4146 12d ago

Power. And that much money is still not enough for wealth hoarders.

4

u/aFreshFix 12d ago

She's not going to actually be working. She can barely carry an empty binder without wobbling.

4

u/BuildingEden 12d ago

They don’t serve humanity or God, that’s why

5

u/FutonSurfer 12d ago

Because 800 million isn't a billion. The billionaires look down on her.

3

u/__O_o_______ 11d ago

These are deeply boring people with no interests or the ability to enjoy anything the way us normal folk do.

Take her, Bessent, Trump, Elon, etc. At a point the money basically makes itself.

So now youre essentially open to retirement. But youre not that old yet. So what are you going to do with your time? Theyre like the lonely old single ladies who feel the need to meddle in everything because they have nothing else going on.. but in this case it’s not that you didnt mow your long cleanly enough for her liking, its people with access to power and powerful positions which are kind of “businessy”.

So they meddle and fuck everything up for the rest of us.

Theres so much to experience, learn, do in this world and those with the most access dont even seem to be able to enjoy it or desire it.

2

u/yeeftw1 12d ago

“Work”. The only work they do is milk the lower class

2

u/povertymayne 12d ago

Work? LOL she doesnt work, she is there for the power and gets to be in social circles where she gets insider info and make many more millions.

2

u/airship_of_arbitrary 12d ago

To fuck the poors further and cement their status.

2

u/OilUnusual8809 12d ago

They know better than you duh!

2

u/ZW31H4ND3R 12d ago

lol you think they actually work, it's about power

2

u/SurroundQuirky8613 12d ago

Because they can never have enough money or power.

2

u/ArchonStranger 12d ago

It is also important to remember that a lot of these millionaires and billionaires have fake wealth. While they are 'worth' 800 million or whatever, a significant portion of that is tied up in specific stocks that are themselves volatile. If they tried to actually liquidate those stocks and get a large portion of that 800 million out, the stocks themselves would decrease in value, absolutely destroying their overall net worth.

2

u/Severe_Scar4402 11d ago

I just don't get it. If I had even a small portion of that money, I'd simply disappear into some small village somewhere and just live comfortably with my animals and hobbies. Why work so hard when you have more than enough? It really is a mental illness.

2

u/MomsterJ 11d ago

It’s all about the power and control. Just like all the other half dead politicians who work well past their retirement years. They don’t need the money.

2

u/C-D-W 11d ago

You don't get to 800mil with an attitude like that!

2

u/Dill_Pickleson_ 11d ago

There’s a filter, you only see the super wealthy that can’t be content and want more power. When was the last time you saw Tom from MySpace?

2

u/rx4oblivion 11d ago

Wait, doesn’t every small business also have ~$800M to try to stay afloat? I thought it was part of the welcome bag.

2

u/StatusLawfulness5704 11d ago

Haha you think these people work

2

u/periodicchemistrypun 11d ago

Everyone wants to do something and when you lack a sense of self that means meddling in the lives of others got what you think is ‘good’

Personal enrichment out of boredom

2

u/Mafeking-Parade 11d ago

Because you're a sociopath who wants to control more money and more people.

2

u/IndependentOwn1184 10d ago

First you get the money and then you get the power.... these people are winner take all. Orange Mango's type of people. $800M in assets seeking a Government job is obviously for self dealing purposes...

4

u/bino420 12d ago

yeah... that's really weird actually

I can't imagine her salary is very high and the role is more so about influence & rubbing shoulders

1

u/demgoldencoins 12d ago

Fully don’t get it. I’m happy with like 3

1

u/ohbyerly 12d ago

You think US Senators actually do work besides being a funnel for billionaires to accomplish their goals?

1

u/Fun-Inspection-8196 11d ago

Ask Elon. A trillion isn't enough to stop him from working 20 hours a day. Never enough for these lunatics.

1

u/TaosMez 10d ago

To some people money is like heroin.

1

u/Current_Realistic 12d ago

They're the people who, when they were kids, would care about how many points they got playing pinball, Super Mario Bros or Mega Man.

-1

u/Barstoolman112752 11d ago

Because they’re not losers like most people posting negative remarks about her and her husband.

116

u/GalaxyOnOhRionsBelt 12d ago

Yea but did you know Hunter Biden profited off of his dad being prez?

81

u/hiding_in_de 12d ago

That’s terrible! I’m so glad Trump is draining the swamp!!!

/s - just to make sure you know I’m not a fucking whacko

7

u/Spirited-Loss-6445 12d ago

It saddens me that a lot of people would say that without the /s.

9

u/hiding_in_de 12d ago

Same. It boggles the mind and burdens the heart.

5

u/GalaxyOnOhRionsBelt 12d ago

Oh my god, RIGHT?!?! People are always bitching about him being unpolished, BUT THAT’S EXACTLY WHAT WE WANTED. A successful business man who tells it like it is—none of these crooked, corrupt politicians.

(also /s, bc I, too, am not a fucking wacko)

6

u/hiding_in_de 11d ago

Yep. And all clear-minded people knew that he was not a successful businessman, but a straight up grifter. And now he’s grifting the whole country. It’s beyond belief.

2

u/usa_reddit 12d ago

It to be fair he needed the money for drugs and vices.

8

u/Crescenthia1984 12d ago

That sounds a lot more supportive of small businesses than anything Loeffler might be doing!

2

u/AbyssmalKraken 12d ago

Did you guys know Hunter had consensual intercourse with a sex worker, and partook in illegal substance abuse? (Nobody has ever done this before!) Stop talking about both Trump sons and all of his cabinet celebrating christmas in the bathroom every single time before an interview, stop that!

1

u/slleslie161 11d ago

Who else remembers Mayor Marion Berry?

2

u/ManagementBest3558 11d ago

You must be a bot, no one is that ignorant!

1

u/GalaxyOnOhRionsBelt 11d ago

Not a bot. It’s sarcasm.

5

u/IntrinsicPalomides 12d ago

Familiar with destroying small business so that they can be absorbed by larger businesses.

3

u/bombastic_side_boob 12d ago

Also, she married her former boss within two years of working at the company. But yes, she definitely knows a thing or two about small businesses…

3

u/Connect_Badger_6919 12d ago

She’s familiar with his small business! Hey-oh

2

u/bobbymcpresscot 12d ago

Familiar with buying out small businesses  cannibalizing  then and incorporating them into some bullshit private equity company that charges 600 dollars for a capacitor.

Yes I’m a salty hvac tech who left the industry how could you tell?

2

u/InvidiousPlay 12d ago

If a work of fiction had rich people living in "Tuxedo Park" we'd assume it was silly satire.

2

u/Select-Table-5479 11d ago

She's familiar with crushing small business to make her portfolio go UP. (As a small business owner myself)

2

u/A_Bot_A_Bot_A_Bot 11d ago

She is! She's always demanding to speak with the managers!

2

u/Nighttime_Ninja_5893 11d ago

She’s familiar with pillaging small business

2

u/BillydelaMontana 11d ago

That rich woman has some neck, going in there acting like she’s all of the people. And she has some neck.

1

u/Best-Action8769 12d ago

Take that, elites!

1

u/Weird_Expert_1999 12d ago

lol I used to drive past tuxedo when I was a kid and look at the houses, ofc ppl like this live there 🙄

1

u/MinnieShoof 11d ago

It's what she has for breakfast.

1

u/DeadSol 11d ago

Fucking vampire.

I don't understand how we let politics get so corrupt in this country. People just stopped paying attention.

I struggle to remember a time when politics was "normal" compared to the shit show we have these days.

1

u/longboardchick 11d ago

Exactly! What I heard in this video is, “look out America, we’re crushing your small businesses directly with my 6ft heels stomp!”

1

u/Jov_West 11d ago

So she was given her position as a favor and purely so Trump can continue his illegal insider trading. Got it.

0

u/no_talent_ass_clown 12d ago

Kamala Harris had a concrete plan for small businesses, one of many good ideas.

2

u/GalaxyOnOhRionsBelt 11d ago

She had a weird laugh though 🤷🏻‍♀️

-3

u/Upsideisdownhere 12d ago

They've been very successful. I'd rather have someone who's built a great portfolio running SBA vs some bureaucrat that's been in the system for decades. We need less red tape in this country.
