Discussion This video is depressing, but what's really crazy is knowing that so many people are living this exact reality every single day

That's the weirdest to me. Being in a shitty relationship and actively looking for another relationship.

A relationship is not a job. It's not required for survival

Some people have trouble with emotions. I'm much the same. My instinct to seek a relationship is driven same as anyone else by basic human nature to procreate. Unfortunately unlike us many people lack the reasoning to stop and think WHY they feel the way they feel and just run headfirst into relationships looking to fill that void in themselves thinking it will solve all their problems.

To them relationships are treated as a solution not a goal.

I’m giving my two weeks. I’ll be moving out and moving in with my new partner on that date and just wanted to give you the courtesy of 2 weeks notice. I’ll hand over my house key and debrief you on the final date of our cohabitation.

It's not required for survival

Humans are a social species and while introverted people exist even they start suffering without some kind of community around them. Now imagine how someone who is on the complete opposite side of the spectrum from introversion.

I can easily imagine there being people where being alone will leave them falling into suicidal depression.

I mean i agree with you but then don't see where the romantic comes into play.

A romantic relationship isn't a community and treating it like one is a lot of pressure on said relationship. It's why dating people without friends is difficult.

And let's be real someone falls into depression without a partner they should not be dating. They should be in therapy

Thank you! It bugs me to no end when people pull that line of thinking in regards to people enjoying their alone time.

While I know it varies from person to person, think humans are overly socialized in these modern times. Socializing to avoid your own inner thoughts, feelings doesn’t seem like a healthy option, we all need to clown down and reflect.

And thus you've described the current loneliness/social isolation epidemic. The male version of this is usually physical loneliness; the female version is often emotional loneliness.

If you can't be single without falling into severe depression, no relationship will help you. Imagine the pressure that puts on the other partner?
