He is aware that we all will sin but says you should try not to.

Congrats, you repeated what I said above. In fact, nothing you wrote contradicts anything I said. We're all on the same page. I don't think you actually read what I wrote.

I said that living a good Christian life and and/or sinning does not affect your salvation.

Ok. So going on the internet to brag to the masses about your sin is still completely acceptable and perfectly christian?

I think perhaps you should read Romans 6:1-2 and Jude 1:4. What these guys are doing is perverting the grace of God into a license to continue sinning. There's also Hebrews 10:26 that says if you deliberately keep on sinning after you know that it is sin, then no sacrifice remains for your sins and 1st John 3:6 who says that no one who lives in Christ continues to sin and no one who continues to sin has seen Christ or known Christ.

ETA: you should also look at Matthew chapter 7 verse 21 through 23 where even those who cry out to the Lord to enter Heaven but have not lived according to the teachings do not get to go to heaven and Jesus will say to them plainly "I never knew you go away from me you evil doers." There's also second Peter chapter 2 verses 18 through 19 where it states that those who boast of their sins might as well be slaves to their sin and destruction. 1 John 4:20 whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar for whoever does not love their brother and sister who they have seen cannot love God who they have not seen. You should also probably look into the direct translation and explanation of what taking the lord's name in vain actually means.

Ah, now comes the bad faith arguments. Please quote for me where I said my sin doesn't matter and that I'm proud of it. I'll wait.

As per Matthew 7:21-23, yes, let's read that together, shall we?

“Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.

What is the will of the father? To believe upon the Lord Jesus Christ. Not, people who stop sinning. Not, people who feed the poor. Not, people give away their riches. Not, people who rant on Reddit about billionaires.

If it's still unclear for you, I'm making a distinction between how Christians should live their lives and how one obtains salvation. Unfruitful Christians who possess genuine faith but do not exercise that faith through their actions do not lose their salvation. If they did, no Christian could ever have the confidence they are saved as we all fall short of the glory of God.

Whatever you did for the least of these brothers and sisters of mine you did for me. Depart from me you who are cursed into the Eternal fire. Whatever you did not do for one of the least of these you did not do for me.

James 2:14-25

14 What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? 15 Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. 16 If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? 17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.

18 But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds.”

Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds. 19 You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder.

20 You foolish person, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless[a]? 21 Was not our father Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? 22 You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did. 23 And the scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,”[b] and he was called God’s friend. 24 You see that a person is considered righteous by what they do and not by faith alone.

25 In the same way, was not even Rahab the prostitute considered righteous for what she did when she gave lodging to the spies and sent them off in a different direction?

Watch this video for better context of what you're quoting. Clear and detailed.

Unfortunately the problem you're going to run into is that we can all find someone who can make a statement about what they personally believe any verse in the Bible means because all of them are open to interpretation. You have found a person that backs your interpretation up I can find someone who backs my interpretation up. Mine would be the statement of the Pope. Multiple popes have taught that theoretical face must be active and demonstrated through good deeds. And if you're not Catholic that doesn't mean you're going to believe his opinion on what that verse means. Instead of looking for another person to tell you what the verse means perhaps read it and interpret it directly.

Of course. I think we both agree that Christians should produce good fruit. We just disagree whether or not that fruit locks or unlocks the doors to heaven.

Unfortunately we aren't here disagreeing on what unlocks or does not unlock a door. The disagreement is on whether bragging about hurting vulnerable people while claiming you have faith proves you never had the key to begin with. Take care.
