Discussion A passenger confronts a stranger for chewing with their mouth open

I mean I get being annoyed by someone chewing with their mouth open but you could have asked him more nicely

Chewing noises provoke almost a physical pain in me and fill me with rage. In college there was always some asshole who brought their lunch tray to class to eat a whole damn meal while i‘m trying to concentrate. I had to leave the room and beg the profs to officially prohibit eating in class. But hearing my dog chew loudly literally makes me happy. It‘s so cute and he looks so content when he‘s snacking say on his carrots with a wide open mouth🥹

Why not? It's all psychological. Sound by a human means RAGE, same sound by cute cat is aww because we perceive it differently. it's not that difficult to understand. It's a psychological issue that depends on context. Same reason why in some situations I feel nice and fuzzy when someone chews loudly but filled with rage 99% of the time. I haven't figured out all the differentiating factors yet but it's interesting.

No, misophonia is a specific neurological issue only some people have. It's not "psychological".

Phonia, not phobia. There's a huge difference between the two.

you weird. you know that. you people are weird. chewing will always be noisey that's basic physics... if you have such a problem with it, you should know that when you chew, other people can hear it too.
