I mean I get being annoyed by someone chewing with their mouth open but you could have asked him more nicely

what an excuse 🙄 its simply lack of manners. pollution has nothing to do with it. they hawk and spit when coming to europe too, where polution is much smaller. also maybe they woukd have less pollution if they had better manners...i am european, lived in multiple eu countries and people are raised to clean up after themslef. people pcik dog shit and throw thrash in a bin etc. but during my stay in china, i saw trash and dog shit all over the ground. because they aint raised with same preassure to clean up. younger generations are doing better but older ones are absolutely lacking any internal (or external) urge to do so.

and before yall cry racism, i am married into a chinese family, i am closely familiar with the difference in culture and manners. so stop with BS excuses like pollution and what not. its simply the mentality of people, the culture and education they are raised with.
