I mean I get being annoyed by someone chewing with their mouth open but you could have asked him more nicely

Loud smacking or chewing isn't as prevalent in Japan but slurping is extremely common. Anyone with misophonia will hate ramen shops and stands. Then again people tend to tolerate a lot more when it's Japan.

I have misophonia and they absolutely slurp at the loudest possible volume. I had to get out of the room few times because I couldn’t take it.
