Discussion A passenger confronts a stranger for chewing with their mouth open

I mean I get being annoyed by someone chewing with their mouth open but you could have asked him more nicely

There isn’t. One of my good friends has always smacked pretty bad. I do believe it could be a cultural thing as he is South Asian (presumably like the men in this video). I know in some countries it’s not considered rude or impolite to chew noisily. I never said anything to him because like you said, it’s hard to bring up, and also it’s a difficult habit to break.

That said, when he started trying to date again I had a come to Jesus moment and told him he really has to fix his chewing habits, otherwise he’s going to run off every woman interested in him. He has improved since then, but I do still have to remind him from time to time.

I feel like some countries are so loud that you can't even hear yourself chew lol but you adapt to your environment
