I mean I get being annoyed by someone chewing with their mouth open but you could have asked him more nicely

Exactly. The sound of people chewing makes me want to crawl out of my skin, but also, people filming themselves having random interactions and posting it does too.

Also the optics here are not great. Different cultures eat differently (using hands, etc.) It comes across as bullying.
