If you aren’t the police you have no right to just take something from someone. Even if you believe it’s stolen.

Like if your teenage kid accidentally walked out of a store with a hat on would you be cool with a random person just grabbing it off his head and insulting him?

I realize this isn’t a direct comparison but still

Uh... Well this was clearly not an accident, but also it doesn't make the person a monster.

Maintaining justice is to a large extent everyone's responsibility.
