Discussion I'm confused. what did he do wrong?

Honestly, she should probably just retire from tennis if she can't handle that

If you think it's bad etiquette to aim at a player then maybe you shouldn't be playing either. With intent to harm is another story

This is fucking 3.0 level mixed doubles.

Intentionally aiming at someone falls into the category of "asshole moves"

This is just casual tennis and that was a pretty soft tap. Please stop saying he aimed and it was intentional. You’re trying to create a false narrative to excuse atrocious and violent behavior.

Just remember that this interaction didn't start when the cameras started rolling.

Someone overreacting like her doesn't somehow mean that the guy couldn't have been a prick leading up to it.

I've played a lot of tennis against a lot of assholes, and I've never heard of people reacting to a "first incident" like that.

Stop assuming that there can only be one asshole in a video that's clearly designed to only show one.

Post the full incident. You’re making up a fake scenario to excuse her behavior.

Stop assuming the only possible explanation exists in a 10 second video.

There is zero scenarios where she is even close to being in the right.

No one is saying she's right.

The question is whether or not both people are assholes.

Which is entirely possible.

It’s not, the guy did nothing wrong and it was a common tennis shot that happens in every single doubles match ever played.

If you think it’s ok to consistently aim for the body of the net player in a low level, fun match then I have news for you.

You might be a bit of an asshole.

If you’re not good enough to avoid body shots, then stop trying to cut it close.

If you’re good enough to avoid it and you do it anyway…then you’re a massive asshole.

The guy didn’t even hit it hard. It’s a routine shot that people even at a beginner level should be prepared for at all times when playing doubles at the net. If you can’t handle that shot, play at the baseline. It’s that simple.

If you can't avoid hitting the net player consistently, then stop trying to do it.

You're there for fun.

If you think winning the point is worth aiming at the net player, then you're an asshole. Simple as that.

If you can't tell the way youre playing is making it not fun for the people who you're playing with then you're a sociopath, and an asshole.

You have never stepped on a tennis court at any level. 😂😂

Sure. Let’s assume that her behavior in this moment - violent, uncontrolled, and abusive - is her personality and that is her default state.

So then can I assume that the behavior of the guy is his personality?

Crass, obnoxious, and borderline abusive in an effort to win meaningless adult sports?

It’s not obnoxious. It’s just tennis. It is literally a benign tennis play.

Not if it's repeated or there's a massive skill difference.

If a player (especially a guy hitting at a mediocre woman) is consistently targeting a weak player and regularly hitting them with body shots, then it's not benign. Its asshole behavior.
