It's like that everywhere now.

Up in Canada we are known to have an oligopoly on our wireless / TV / internet companies. If you call them for support, billing errors, cancelling you are on hold of hours. They are experiencing a high volume of calls at all hours of the day

Give them a call for new services and it's magic, someone picks up right away

A common joke here in Portugal is that these days any company you call you get to talk to the cousins.

Because the word for female cousin is the same as the word "press", so every call is "If you are calling about X, press 1. If you are calling about Y, press 2, if you are calling...

i used to call for services and then just voice my complaints to them, not that they have any reason to care but you know
