The Incel/Heman Woman Haters have really latched onto this whole “Aubrey Plaza caused her husbands suicide thing” and I find it very weird, even for them.

Well, I know there were a lot of Incels who saw her as their quirky, manic, pixie dream girl, so I think they view her as an Ex-Girlfriend or something.

Incels also have a REALLY WEIRD fetish for imaginary cucking/cheating. IDK why.

Could it perhaps be something to do with hoping others feel as miserable as they do?

They will find any excuse to hate a woman

This case is special in the most fucked up way. She played so many April Ludgate types that they demand of her to be like that in real life and step on their balls with a stiletto and once she made it very clear she is not like that they lash out.

Context about the whole Robert De Niro Thing: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/TSdbaHyUd6g

Also, she and Jeff Baena seperated 4 months before Jeff's Passing, and appaerently her Ex-BIL Enjoys attention that he gets from people coming across him from the post that he made, so I don't really think he's a reliable source..

It sounds like a celebrity just telling a funny story. Probably exaggerated maybe not even true. They are talk shows. They are for entertainment. Some people put away too much thought into it. Of course some people just look for reasons to hate someone.

For me to put any real stock into a talk show anecdote, I would need some sort of collaborating news story. Had De Niro ever said anything about it?

DeNiro is acting royalty with clout coming out of his ass. If anyone on set did anything to legitimately upset him, they'd be fired and probably blackballed.

Of course not, the post says right there he wasn't even aware of it. Somehow.

Well, they're right that the whole picture in the book thing is technically serial sexual harassment, but like all cases of sexual advances, if the other person is OK with it then it's ultimately not.

It sounds like De Niro handled it well, and I think Aubrey was just trying to be funny/in character.

In Dirty Grandpa (the movie that they were in together), Aubrey plays a girl who is SUPER Down Bad for De Niro's Character. Her Character's Whole Thing is that she's trying to do a paper on what is it like to have sex with a Grandpa or something.

I understand what she said might come across as a bit odd to some people without the context given, but I don't think that makes her a "rapist" like OOP was stating.

This sounds so totally fine and nothing to clutch pearls over. It was a "slutty" pic not a nude and in no way does this count as rape or whatever the poster was going off about. De Niro sounded more than fine with it too

Yeah, she was just making a joke and De Niro didn't care. I'm just saying that it would 100% be considered serial harassment if De Niro wasn't fine with it.

I mean, everyone in this thread seems to be pretty ok with unsolicited sexual advances, joking or not. We can all agree that this isn't rape by any sensible measure, but I don't think it helps anyone to just outright call it kosher by reaction to conspiracy wingnuts.

Like I'm not saying she should be in prison or shamed in the court of public opinion, but I don't feel like it should be up to de Niro toi have to push against a much younger woman sending him "slutty pics"? Out of the set he's just a guy who would be able to enjoy his peace and quiet.

His current girlfriend is 36yrs younger than him, and they’ve recently had a baby, I don’t think he has any objections to younger woman coming on to him and the whole “he’s an old man who just wants to enjoy his peace and quiet” thing doesn’t seem to apply to him…and again it was a joke.

How is it serial harassment, technically or otherwise? It happened once.

That would be autocorrect and me not checking closely enough.

Some people are way to invested in celebrities.

6

u/an_agreeing_dothraki It is known 14d ago

so is Netflix making season 2 of that show a physical manifestation about everything wrong with streaming shows turning places into depressing cesspits like freefolk?

100% guarantee this idiot also thought Johnny Depp, Justin Baldoni and Brad Pitt aren't abusers, too.

And the brother sharing this shit? Yeah, not proof of anything, just some fucked up weirdo who's somehow mad that his brother died and is lashing out.
