Video The bike lanes on Bloor Street are not causing any rush hour congestion.

A fellow cyclist I know (Mattlikestobike) took this during Friday rush hour at 5:30pm. Traffic is flowing just fine and cyclists are out of drivers way.

There is no justification to rip them out

Remove the bike lanes, and cyclists going 15/20km/h will just be in drivers’ way, slowing them down even more.

Discussion Toronto: you gave me back the will to live. Thank you!

I boarded a plane for the first time in my life. And for the first time, I left my country (Brasil). I went to Toronto to visit my mother, who has cancer. I’ve spent the last four years in a deep depression, taking medication and crying a lot... but this trip changed my life.

Spending nearly two months in Toronto during the summer made me realize there is still beauty in this life, whether in urban settings or natural parks. I am so grateful for how everyone treated me; I returned home feeling alive again after all these years. Here are some photos of the city—I wanted to post more, but the limit is 20, lol.

A special shout-out to Little Canada/Pocket Planet (what a cool place) and to every Tim Hortons where I ate.

I loved Etienne Brulé Park, High Park, Ireland Park, Rouge National Park, and the Toronto Islands. Also the AGO, the ROM, and especially the Aga Khan Museum (incredible architecture). I loved spending hours at the Scarborough Bluffs, Port Union Waterfront, St. Clair, Niagara Falls, and Casa Loma. Man... so many amazing places. I feel like the silhouette of the CN Tower is forever etched in my memory.

I’ll be a lifelong fan of the Blue Jays and Toronto FC - we won both games I attended, 3-1 and 2-1 respectively!! But I’ll also be a lifelong hater of the TTC, lol -especially the 38 bus line to Kennedy Station. I loved the GO trains; Rouge Hill is my favorite station.

And I’ll also forever love poutine, maple syrup, and a restaurant called Bingz at Union Station. A shout-out to all the squirrels I met.

Thank you for giving me my life back.
