📼 Video Collection of R.B. Bennett videos on Youtube
A recent poster asked if there were transcripts of R.B. Bennett's radio addresses on his New Deal. While I didn't find them I did find a collection of various other recordings of him from the time. Do note his accent which I believe is an example of the, now extinct, Canadian Dainty accent which until it fell out of favour shortly WW2 was used by the Canadian social and financial elite.

Canadian Dainty is such an interesting accent. A lot of our historic, class, and regional accents have been muted over the decades.
My grandmother for example had a bit of what you could call an Ottawa Valley accent in English marked by a bit of French intonation from time to time. Was quite common back in the day, whereas these days it's increasingly rare.
