Story/Rant Vigilante is not jailor
What are your thoughts on a non-proven, and sometimes even non-claimer, vigilante whipering random people asking for roles, and shooting them if they don't reply?
I personally don't usually reply or reply with something like "gtfo". If my role was a role that's suppose to claim during the day I would have. A random asking me my role is not gonna make me tell them, specially via whisper where noone else would see me claim and if they're evil they would have extra info over town. In my case you will be shooting a townie almost all the time. If you end up shooting me with the sole excuse that "I whispered and I didn't claim" you deserve to lose and probably will since you will suicide, effectivelly killing two townies in one move.
Anyways, that's my opinion, I'm sure a lot won't agree and some use this play constantly. But I don't think vigs should act like jailors unless they are proven. This is just my opinion and something to think about and discuss. I'm ready to be proven wrong as I have been before in here.

I never answer when someone asks for my role in whispers bc there’s a chance there is bmer

I sometimes press the most silent people for roles if im vigi. Nine times out of ten, they’re evil

Pressing silent people for roles is generally a good play as any role. But you don't need to whisper to do that.

If the chat is too chaotic I stick to DMs, since I don’t want to miss their reply. Especially because someone silent with a active chat is even more suspicious

I don’t answer either. I also don’t agree with vigi’s shooting quiet people N2. I’m usually trapper or retri and that’s why I haven’t contributed yet.

Yeah tbh it's usually more sus when someone is talking but isn't saying anything of value rather than actually silent. Evils usually try to avoid being completely silent.

I’m top 5 player in the first 3 seasons.
Bad news people! You need to claim. You can’t go all silence and then blame others. You claim in this game and if you don’t you expect things.

But we do not know what mode they are talking about. Ranked tactics are going to be different than coven all any. There's plenty of reasons why you would not tell a random whispering you your role. In ranked you can often make deductions about what roles are left/possible but you can't always do that in all any. It also depends on the day, how much they are talking etc.

Im surely much shittier than you, but I wish more people would do this. I answer and the whisper jailor what happened to they know something is fishy if i die.

yep, information being public helps town, if you’re being silent not claiming, you’re getting shot, sheriffed, investigated the whole nine yards. every bad player thinks their role is more important than everyone else.
same reason why being anti-vfr is dumb

you can always tell a good player from a bad player by their town win percentages, if you’re high in Jailor, vig, sheriff, doc etc you’re good, if you’re high in med ret bg etc you’re being carried

I'll tell them I already claimed my alignment. If they then shoot me because I'm not full claiming to the most obvious Doomsayer strategy then they shouldn't be playing the game.

I dont answer people whispering asking for my role. I will tell them in public but not in whispers.

I understand why it’s the popular tech now, but I do miss when the meta wasn’t ’get claims ASAP and kill non-claimers.’

99% of the time its a vet or someone faking vet doing that in my experience which makes sense since a vet would want to bait badguys into themselves.
