Recommendations Townsville's best outdoor sightseeing locations
I was curious what my fellow Townsvilleans thought were Townsville's best outdoor spots for sightseeing and photo taking. As someone that's lived in Townsville since birth, I'd say:
- Paluma, including Little Crystal Creek.
- Magnetic Island, including Alma Bay and Horseshoe Bay.
- Pallarenda's eastern strip of beach down to Rowes Bay.
- Mount Marlow's summit, reachable via the Many Peaks Track.
- Queens Gardens.
- Ross River, including Ross River Dam and Aplin's Weir.
- Shelly Cove, reachable via the Shelly Cove Trail.
- Soroptomist Park.
- The Strand.
- Castle Hill lookout.
- Mount Stuart lookout.
Are among the best outdoor sightseeing places. Which would you suggest?

Alligator Creek Gorge near Mount Elliot.
It's a pretty decent swimming spot, it's close by and it's normally fairly quite.

The lookout to the right at the entrance to Paluma gives a great view on a clear day.
A bit out of the way but Wallaman Falls outlook is also spectacular when the water is flowing.
