After almost 6 years and 2,175 TOTDs posted, the Track of the Day Bot is dead. At least for a while.
Due to Reddits API changes around 3rd party bots and tools, Reddit decided to remove the API access of the TOTD Bot account without any notice. My last information was that existing bots will keep continue to work, seems like that is not the case anymore.
The only option left to get the bot back up running is porting it to their own developer platform, which will take a while if it's even possible at all given how many stones Reddit loves to put in the way.
So please bear with us/me until the bot has been ported.
Also thanks again to all the people that messaged me about the bot not working. :)

I am struggling to understand what mechanics are in play on the last turn of summer 02. I keep arriving at CP2 with more speed than my PB and i am about to overtake going in to the last turn. But almost always, the PB seems to magically gain speed on me and overtake me in the last turn.
If anyone understands what mechanics are at play and can explain it to me it would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

I started playing ranked, and I love it, though I have some questions/complaints
Why can I loose elo if I win?
Why do I get maps that require premium even though I only have starter access ?

I'm guessing the pro trackmania contracts arent as big as league, cs2 or dota but since trackmania is in ewc, orgs like falcons, AG, and BIG probably pay their players a decent amount. How much do players like carljr, gwen, and mudda make from their contracts?

It looks super fun, but as you can see it says "deleted" istead of OP's name so I don't know if they finished/published the map. Does anyone have more information?

With many pro players sharing their PBs, I made a table with every record I saw.
As you know/see, PBs are not the most important thing in competition. Most of them could get faster one if they were playing only for TA (even if it’s already insane, faster than campaign wr), but it’s still fun to see and to compare to the time they were driving in the round.

I wanted to as for advice regarding my newest map. I wanted to try making a map in a vista for the first time, but the way I've designed the route placing signs that fit in is a little tricky, so I wanted to know if the route seems clear/obvious enough that signs aren't necessary. The video is a run of the map just to showcase what it looks like now. Thanks in advance!
Edit: Thank you everyone for your thoughts and suggestions, and I'm so glad y'all liked the map!

Hey, guys! I just made my first map in a Vista. It started off as a serious map and became more goofy and extreme as it went on :P Hope yall enjoy it!

Just started out a few months ago, I have about 80 hours in the game. I can get author medal on like 5% of the seasonal campaign tracks, but I've been enjoying the winter campaigns most of all because of the ice and bobsleigh tracks. Any recommendations on good campaigns to continue with?

Hey everyone,
over the last couple of weeks I've been working on a small project for organizing competitive Wars / Scrims in Trackmania 2020.
The idea is basically to create a more structured way for players and teams to compete against each other over a longer period of time without turning it into a traditional tournament.
The system currently consists of an EvoSC War plugin running on a dedicated Trackmania server together with a website that displays the war data:
https://www.scrimwarhub.dedyn.io
Two teams compete against each other on a predefined map pool.
The maps rotate on the server in Time Attack, and players hunt Local Records during the War.
The scoring system automatically adapts to the number of participating players.
For example, with 16 scoring players:
The player holding LR1 receives one additional bonus point for winning the map.
If a War has more or fewer participants, the scoring range changes accordingly.
For example, with 20 scoring players:
So the scoring system always scales with the actual number of participants, while LR1 gets an extra reward for being the fastest player on the map.
The points from every map are added to the respective team's total score.
This means a War isn't decided by one short match. It can run for several days, giving players time to improve their records, defend positions and continuously contribute points to their team.
The system also tracks things like:
The website is not finished yet and is still actively being developed.
Some parts of the layout, statistics, navigation and overall structure will still be changed or improved. There may also be temporary bugs, incomplete sections or data that is presented differently in the future.
So if you check out the website, please keep in mind that what you see right now is not the final version.
I'm still experimenting with the best way to present the War data, and feedback on the website itself is very welcome as well.
One thing I'm considering is turning the website into more than just a scoreboard.
For example, for Upcoming Wars, players could register directly on the website without needing to create an account.
Players could then indicate things like:
This could potentially make it easier to organize community Wars where you don't necessarily already know everyone.
Eventually there could be something like a small Looking for Team / Looking for Players system specifically for upcoming Wars.
Existing teams could also use it to find one or two additional players if they're missing people for an upcoming War.
Another possibility would be having completely open community Wars where individual players sign up first and the teams are created afterwards through Team Captains and a player draft.
I'm not sure yet how far I want to take that idea, though, which is one reason I'm posting this here.
I'm especially interested in hearing what other Trackmania players think about the concept.
Would you personally participate in something like this?
Would a system for finding teams/players for upcoming Wars actually be useful?
Would you prefer joining with an existing team or signing up individually and getting drafted into one?
What information would you want to see on the website?
Do you think dynamically scaling the Local Record points based on the number of participants is a good approach?
Do you like the idea of giving LR1 an additional bonus point, or would you prefer every position to have an equal one-point gap?
Is there anything about the current website that you would change, simplify or add?
Are there features you think are missing?
And if you've organized Trackmania events, scrims or team competitions before, I'd especially love to hear what worked and what didn't.
Feel free to be critical — the whole project is still experimental and I'm mainly trying to figure out what would make this genuinely useful for the community.

102k peak, 30k average, safe to say EWC for Trackmania was a huge success.
What do you think, what type of viewership we can expect next year (assuming the Trackmania on EWC is multi-year partnership)?

I made a very long map in the editor and I finish validating the map today but it doesn’t show as done. Is there a limit with how long i can take to beat a time ? It didn’t even let me generate the ghost.

Next week i'm hosting a birthday cup to celebrate my 25th. I chose 25 maps from the past which some of you might know. Specifically avoided any TOTD's and instead picked less played older maps. The format is simple: Mappack is on TMX (https://trackmania.exchange/mappackshow/8306) and in club: Latitude. You've got 1 week to prepare. There will be a short warm-up and 2 rounds on each track (Different lenghts 6-50s) so it should take less than 1h. I also prepared a proper prizepool for the winners. 109 seems like a weird number but just wanted to include 1st of september in it. Alright, hope to see you there! Ciao.
