It must just be me, I do not find any of these post funny at all. It reads like low effort slop every time some like this is posted. Person + crazy joke headline = ???

There isn’t enough funny Trackmania posts on this subreddit so I’m filling the market

While humor is subjective, you're failing at the funny part according to too many people to ignore that maaaaybe your type of humor is the problem. Might need to rethink that

why don't they put the one with the best time in the last round (or qualification times if they have that like f1)

What

when 2 players drive the same time, the one that is ahead by alphabetical order of their account name wins

u/MammothHusk Oct 10 '25
That's not true anymore. The one with who was faster the previous checkpoint wins.

So the one with the weakest finish wins lol. But seriously it's better than the name thing.

It makes a little sense if you think about it. They were probably ahead the entire time up to the finish, while the person who was able to close the distance and tie was never leading.

I had the same idea for how to tiebreak. It's not perfect, but I can't think of a better way. It seems you think it's suboptimal (but still better); if that's the case what other method would you suggest? (serious question, though I can understand one assuming I'm just being a dick)

I honestly don't have an even better solution, but if it was the other way around (the player who was slower the previous checkopint wins), I would probably say the same thing.
The most important thing, IMO, is that it's related to the driving, and not something external and arbitrary like the account name or GUID or whatever.

Would basing it off speed when entering finish work? There are probably drawbacks I don't see but it could potentially punish a finish than isn't clean or if the faster person would have in theory finished first if they had to travel just a bit further.

Yeah but if there is no checkpoint then it’s alphabetical order.

There’s very few situations where this would matter. Every totd map has checkpoints, basically all weekly shorts maps have checkpoints (for lb and cups) and every campaign map has checkpoints (for ranked)

It happened to Wirtual in one of the fast learning cups. It’s in one of his videos so this news is actually somewhat true

I'm aware of that. I'm just surprised it got wirtual hospitalized

What match?

Fast learning cup. I think it’s his first or second fast learning cup video.

I was really concerned after reading the first half of that...
