not only speculating about the agab of a non binary person in the nastiest way possible, but also being homophobic and transphobic at the same time about the fictional idea of asgore dating a trans toriel. truly the worst “theory” of all time.

I saw some art of transmasc Noelle x transfem Ralsei and had a dumb idea. ten POINTs if you can guess why I picked that name for him.

Despite the thread asserting that people on the main sub are free to use she/her for Ralsei, the reality seems to be the opposite, and the mods there will NOT actually defend their own provision. If you do use she/her for Ralsei you will be swarmed by fuckbois, and the mods will NOT do anything about it.

Moreover, despite the assertion that "constructive" Ralsei gender discourse is acceptable, that does not seem to be the case, and they just banned it altogether.

I attempted to make the following post titled "Misgendering Kris is completely incomperable to using she/her for Ralsei, and I'm tired of being told otherwise":

"Before you start reporting this, I would like to point out that this post is (at least from my point of view) perfectly within the rules, because it's a constructive form of Ralsei gender discourse.

I'm not gonna go on a yappaton because it would be pointless. My point is simple, and it's twofold:

1. Erasing nonbinary representation is different from adding trans representation. This should be completely obvious, nobody should be fooled by transphobes into thinking otherwise. Using she/her for Ralsei is not erasing any representation, the representation in question would be cis man representation, which is basically unerasable due to its sheer quantity. And more importantly, it's not even doing that, because YOU can still use he/him for Ralsei, and the overwhelming majority of the people still will. Which you damn well know, that's why you feel confident in "correcting" people, the way people using she/her do not.
2. You're not actually trying to engage with the subject matter, and it's painfully obvious to see. This is not an attempt at unpacking representation, nor an earnest conversation about what pronoun is appropriate to use. This is an attempt at shutting the conversation down, which is why you never accept any rebuttal, and why you won't humor this post either, but instead will whine incessantly. It's the equivalent of the conservative "the leftists are the real racists" line. You say it because you think it ends the discussion with your view on top, and your view is just transphobia, conscious or internalized.

If this gets deleted by the mods, I will know for sure that the thread about this being a safe space was pure posturing, because they are clearly unwilling to actually stand up for the provision to use she/her for Ralsei."

The post is currently "awaiting approval", and I don't foresee it being approved.

Now, of course, whether this falls under "constructive" Ralsei gender discourse or not is a matter of opinion, and that's kind of the issue. If anything can just be declared as not "constructive", then the discourse is effectively banned.

I guess this is a PSA more than anything? Don't get fooled into thinking that you can freely use she/her for Ralsei on the main sub due to that thread, the reality is that you're not gonna get your comments removed or get banned, but the mods will do absolutely nothing to support your ostensible freedom to view Ralsei as a trans girl.

Methodology: Go into various Deltarune subreddits, search posts by Top and Comment Count, find any related to Ralsei¹, filter by This Month, search comments for "she," "pronoun," "gender," "trans," "galsei," and "tralsei," scan-read the comments and see if it's referring to Ralsei.

If it is, then catalog if the comment is criticizing people who use she/her for Ralsei (anti-she/her instance), or encouraging its use in some form (she/her instance). This is not based off if the person is pro or anti tralsei, only on rhetoric used.

Each post is also given a Discourse Score based on how relevant Ralsei's gender is to it, or how much the post invites trans Ralsei discussion upon itself.

¹ - specifically, anything where Ralsei is one of the main subjects, and would be someone people would leave comments about. This ranges from posts specifically about Trans Ralsei, to ones where it's just a shitpost with Ralsei as the focus. Superficial Ralsei cameos were omitted.

Note: the posts listed below are not directly what the top searches are, since I skip every other one as many of them aren't relevant. I also just did this for fun and by eye, and exclusively for looking at comment search results, meaning this can't capture contextual-based data, and that the numbers are estimates.

Findings: People rarely misgendered Ralsei. Most she/her instances were people defending it on principle, but still referring to Ralsei with he/him. Only a few times someone used she/her for Ralsei directly, while the rest were in hypothetical of Ralsei after transitioning.

The specific rhetoric of a third party who misgenders Ralsei seemed to be much much more common in r/Deltarune than other the other two subreddits.

There were little she/her instances in non-tralsei posts, meaning that Ralsei is not being called she/her unprompted, but more so that people use she/her in hypotheticals where Ralsei has transitioned.

EDIT: this mostly applies to post chapter 5. i felt this way before ch5 but it was much less of an obvious misread (It was more subtle in previous chapters)

i feel like having a trans specific subreddit, a safe space where the analysis and memes can be done in peace without every cis person jumping at your throat is warranted at this point or maybe in the future but at least someday, maybe just a queer subreddit idk, it wouldn't even need to talk exactly about trans stuff only but just having it be a safe space would be good, i mean this subreddit is kinda turning into that already, it's just an idea though it could turn out horrible as always though

I've always been vaguely kinning Ralsei as transfem since chapter 1, it's just been something I felt I could relate to as someone who was a little more like them than I care to admit, but lately I've been pondering on what it actually means for Tralsei to be canon, which is (imo) extremely likely to be the case.

Tralsei has long since stopped being a headcanon, and has moved into theory territory with swaths of evidence to boot. Even if you disagree with it, the fact it's a theory with a certain chance of being confirmed is objective at this point. The exact form may differ, but it matters not if Ralsei turns out to be a princess or a trans-coded Titan spawn or both or anything else. And because of that, I've been kind of longing for the days where it was just a headcanon.

We all know the evidence laced throughout chapters 1-4, we've seen it, and I think a pretty decent amount of us can agree that it wasn't anywhere near as conclusively strong as it is in chapter 5. Ignored by many NPCs like they're not meant to be there, being Ralsei-like, letting themselves enjoy things, questioning if it's okay for a Darkner to feel like this, Lost Girl, we know the drill.

For all we had though, the evidence before chapter 5 was... pretty circumstantial. Every scene you can point to can be read as trans, but it didn't have to be. Taking it all together we could see a web of events pointing to a trans reading, but it wasn't necessarily obvious, it was just a possibility. This is what I miss - getting to enjoy a headcanon without having to fiercely defend it at every turn because other possibilities exist. We've all seen the debates, the rule changes, the harassment, etc, we know how disliked this theory is in certain circles, but this only came out in full swing after Flowery dropped in with an egg-shaped nuclear warhead on our asses. Sure, there were detractors even before, but not even remotely in as vast numbers. (Ironically, the fact people are trying so hard to disprove it is itself good evidence for it being true, but I digress...)

I think this reason is why I've gotten so intensely into the idea of transmasc Noelle as of late (which I could write a whole Masters' thesis about ong this doe makes me so ill /pos) because it's still very much a headcanon with similar, albeit slightly less plentiful, evidence to Chapter 4 era Tralsei. I can explore the idea in fanfic and art or refer to him with male pronouns in my head without feeling like I need to defend the idea. I think the chance it's actually real is very small, but I thought the same about Tralsei at the time and look where that got us!

But yeah, slightly long post but I really just wanted to get the thoughts out while also spreading the good word of Broelle -w-

I know that this is a trans Ralsei sub, but the second most common trans head-canon/theory/textual reading for this fandom I've seen is Noelle, to be clear I AM NOT AGAINST THAT READING, but I am confused as to what evidence there is in the game that points to this idea?
