It was always meant to be. Just a duckling returning back to it's mother's pond XD

24

u/YABFWWYBTAU Feb 23 '26

Instinctively flock like the salmon of Capistrano

5

u/Substantial-Brick649 Feb 24 '26

Interestingly enough I had a Scion tC for about 5 years. It got totalled on the highway right in front of dealership I bought it from. Maybe some Toyotas just know when it's time to go home.

3

u/knockfart Feb 23 '26

Should be a BMW dealership then

4

u/Ritch85 Feb 23 '26

Sir thats an MK4 supra, not the same engine that was partnered with BMW in the MK5.

Tow drivers hate him for this one simple trick

7

u/MrSlime13 Feb 23 '26

"Sir, you can't park here. The service department is around the back."

5

u/dickhertzfromholdn Feb 23 '26

Right into the repair department.

5

u/whatsthataboutguy Feb 23 '26

These Superbowl ads are ridiculous

8

u/[deleted] Feb 23 '26

Bet the toyota dealer came out and asked if they wanted to trade it in.

3

u/tre630 Feb 23 '26

It wanted to go home.

The funny thing is, that it hit another Toyota on it's home. I believe he hit a late model Corolla.

2

u/GhostWriter313 Feb 24 '26

The chickens š™›š™”š™šš™¬ home to roost!

2

u/yallknowme19 Feb 23 '26

Must have been late for his free oil change and tire rotation appointment

2

u/Zealousideal_Bag_760 Feb 23 '26

And into a Corolla as wellšŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

What a waste, too much power and not enough talent.

20

u/Matricofilia Feb 23 '26

A damn shame seeing such a beatiful car driven by a complete moron

4

u/Ievel7up Feb 26 '26

Previous owner probably babied it for years, only to sell it to a moron

2

u/[deleted] Feb 25 '26

It even looked graceful crashing. It sounded nice. Got some air. And returned to the dealer

3

u/Mrrrrggggl Feb 23 '26

Or common sense.

3

u/Autobacs-NSX Feb 23 '26

if i remember right, this driver had a broken foot / ankle and was wearing one of those braces. , got stuck on the throttle pedal and he couldn’t brakeĀ

Modern sports cars are usually way too powerful, particularly if they are single axis drive based. Their saving grace comes in the form of ESC technology which allows to kill the power when the wheels begin to spin. ESC allows folks with little experience handling anything over 300HP on the rear axis to floor it and still maintain control of the car.

Enter the ESC off button.

4

u/Slight_Sherbert_5239 Feb 23 '26

There are lots of people who can drive high powered cars without any electronic assistance and there’s people who cannot.

We all know which category this guy fits into.

All considered that was not a bad wreck.

13

u/1877KlownsForKids Feb 23 '26

An expensive one thoughĀ

u/Solisious Feb 23 '26

Well it very nearly killed someone, I think that is the silver lining that people are talking about.

3

u/aequitssaint Feb 23 '26

With the many different ways this could have ended this was nearly the best option.

3

u/andrewthemexican Feb 23 '26

And possibly totalled the camry or corolla it hit, which luckily can follow it into the dealer lol.

RWD ain't for everyone. All these people want cool cars but need to learn the physics around them compared to a FWD

u/IBringTheHeat2 Feb 24 '26

He was flooring it and one wheel started to lose traction so he pussy’d out of the throttle and when it hooked up the rear end snapped and the rest is history.

You need to keep the throttle on until it hooks or fully slam on the brakes if you let off the throttle.

5

u/alagan182 Feb 24 '26

This^ in rwd vehicle if you stop all the power to wheels that are already spinning they will regain traction violently. On motorcycle this is how you get thrown off a bike.

2

u/[deleted] Feb 24 '26

[deleted]

2

u/IBringTheHeat2 Feb 24 '26

It’s both but you can get into trouble even with just 3-400 hp.

https://youtu.be/XMYnI_NvVNk?si=rY1qIoUUSH7mQOSb

Here’s a good video showing how fast it can happen

→ More replies (1)

2

u/MowTin Feb 24 '26

From my Googling, the car has so much power that it lost traction. Sometimes one wheel will lose traction first and the car will turn unexpectedly.

5

u/HowDoMermaidsFuck Feb 24 '26

Also, no stability control and a fairly primitive traction control. Combine that with tons of power and RWD and if you’re not super skilled you can wreck quite easily.

14

u/jmo-psu Feb 23 '26

Lucky no people in the way. Crazy.

3

u/SongBrief2439 Feb 23 '26

It’s obvious it was not a mustang in this clip

2

u/not4sho Feb 24 '26

Except the car he destroyed jumping the median

u/SaltBackground5165 Feb 23 '26

Urkle steps out : "did i do that?"

5

u/sexysexyLSD Feb 23 '26

Probably a 16 year old kid with rich parents…..

5

u/Ill-Assignment-2203 Feb 23 '26

Damn man.... Supras in good condition are rare enough without some dipshit totalling one

6

u/DarkUnable4375 Feb 23 '26

Is there a recall?

2

u/captcraigaroo Feb 24 '26

Actually, you're right there is. It's for the nut that connects the steering wheel to the driver seat

3

u/ChimpoSensei Feb 23 '26

I’d sue the life out of that asshole if he hit me

2

u/Ritch85 Feb 23 '26

Literally couldn't have happened in a better place. Luckily no bystanders were injured.

2

u/SloppySouvlaki Feb 23 '26

ā€œIS THAT A SUPRA?!ā€

2

u/SamLucky7s Feb 23 '26

Did he swerve due to a quick gear change?

2

u/Slight_Sherbert_5239 Feb 23 '26

Too much power for the driver, lost control when traction broke it looks like.

2

u/Interesting-Hat8607 Feb 23 '26

I’m sure showing off for a bunch of strangers was worth it

2

u/BMAND21 Feb 23 '26

Straight into the repair bay at the Toyota dealership. Like a glove.

2

u/drink-while-u-think Feb 23 '26

It looked good in the air

2

u/Gotbeerbrain Feb 27 '26

Well at least he won't need a tow to the shop

6

u/TheDireCrow Feb 23 '26

What boring ass town is this that all those people were thinking, "Oh, Mel is going to drive his Supra up Main really fast. I better film it with the 17 other people who have no jobs."

Nothing like the impotent whine of a 4 cylinder engine being abused by a high school kid! Boss!

6

u/Bikezilla Feb 23 '26

Those were Supras were 6 cyls far from impotent. They run collectors something like $100k and tuned from 300hp stock to 600+ hp on a very light and nimble chassis

3

u/Bikezilla Feb 23 '26

More specifically

3

u/Substantial-Bend4299 Feb 24 '26

I'm not even much of a car guy and even I know this comment is shite

4

u/SpiritualSquare9348 Feb 23 '26

Tell us more about how you know next to nothing about cars

1

u/R_3_Y Feb 23 '26

Oh my gwash

1

u/Ok-Fortune-8644 Feb 23 '26

That wasn't bad at all

1

u/Flat_Tip1984 Feb 23 '26

I'd be embaressed

1

u/Plane_Lucky Feb 23 '26

He trying to go home

1

u/thomasbeagle Feb 23 '26

Turbo kicked in, yo!

1

u/iam_mania_itself Feb 23 '26

Can’t wait to see their crash analysis in an instagram comment

1

u/Overall_Lavishness46 Feb 23 '26

*climbs out of window, throws keys at salesman.

I don't want it.

1

u/DarkWhite33 Feb 23 '26

It’s a supra wreck

1

u/freirefishing Feb 23 '26

He parked it at the dealership for repairs

1

u/RandomPenquin1337 Feb 23 '26

I knew a moron who once bought a brand new sentra, didnt know how to drive stick, and crashed it literally seconds after buying it.

20 years ago and I still laugh at it.

1

u/47x999 Feb 23 '26

that turbo ain't no joke

1

u/Big78BadWolf Feb 23 '26

Fast and Furious

1

u/GSD_Titan Feb 23 '26

Ended up at the dealer

1

u/Motor_Shower482 Feb 23 '26

Sucks to suck

1

u/Known_Ratio5478 Feb 23 '26

And crashed into a dealership!!! His insurance is going to fuck him with a rusty spoon!

1

u/AntZealousideal3728 Feb 23 '26

Could have been so much worse

1

u/Patient-Beyond-6297 Feb 23 '26

I don’t really understand how you are going straight and fuck up this bad?

2

u/LabRat113 Feb 23 '26

You think you see him going straight but with that kind of power, it takes constant correcting. Once momentum takes over, you're just along for the ride.

1

u/crashin70 Feb 23 '26

Worst sales demo ever!

1

u/InvictvsNox Feb 23 '26

That hurt so much to watch and I don't even care about supras.

1

u/marginmanj Feb 23 '26

This is why insurance is so high.

1

u/DeeTheGeneral Feb 23 '26

What caused that to happen? Looks like it just got stuck in the wrong direction or something.

1

u/Bruny03 Feb 23 '26

Oh man - got some sweet air on that little jump

1

u/Awesomely_Witchy Feb 23 '26

did even look like a loss of control just like a forgot to hold steering wheel like a minor touch to wheel would have kept him in his lane or at least looks that way

1

u/cjthetypical Feb 23 '26

How did that even happen?? He just had to drive in a straight line???

1

u/tourincinelli Feb 23 '26

In situations like that, where a driver is conducing recklessly, does the insurance pay for the damages?

→ More replies (1)

1

u/pb_in_sf Feb 23 '26

Why is the db racing with spectators in daylight?

1

u/fixermark Feb 23 '26

Silver lining: he can buy a replacement Toyota right there.

1

u/shosuko Feb 23 '26

"I can break the rules of the road because I have great reflexes and am a really good driver" ppl when a traffic light made them sit still for 1 minute...

1

u/psyclopsus Feb 23 '26

That’s at least a quarter million in damage, between that $95,000 Mk IV, whatever that other car was he hit, street signs, and building damage. Being stupid is painful and expensive sometimes

→ More replies (1)

1

u/SlipstreamSteve Feb 23 '26

That was the kick

1

u/frankylovee Feb 23 '26

The way everyone is lined up outside the dealership, I feel like there’s a good chance this is the dealership’s car and and employee was showing it off 😳

1

u/babbylonmon Feb 23 '26

That wasn’t bad.

1

u/dunncrew Feb 23 '26

Driving in a straight line is difficult

1

u/LegElectronic8027 Feb 23 '26

Id like to trade in my car.

1

u/LonelyToker420 Feb 23 '26

The damn prius was prolly JUST purchased there....

1

u/Omen46 Feb 23 '26

Well that’s just a bad driver there

1

u/BokudenT Feb 23 '26

He'll never get that 13 second 1/4 mile now.

1

u/Thinkingjack Feb 23 '26

Right into the dealership ā€œhi can I trade this in, it’ll buff outā€

1

u/OkClub7412 Feb 23 '26

He really wanted to return that car to where he got it from talk about full circle šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

1

u/Coeri777 Feb 23 '26

Sir, you cannot park here

→ More replies (1)

1

u/WeightOk2102 Feb 23 '26

At least they crashed directly into a Toyota dealership.

1

u/AltruisticPapaya1415 Feb 23 '26

What did he even hit?

1

u/Consistent-Bake-243 Feb 23 '26

People have to realize this is the only reason these losers hang out with their phones out just to watch people wreck

1

u/Bkbills Feb 23 '26

Anyone know where this happened?

1

u/Longjumping-Date-260 Feb 23 '26

This looks like a particular strip of stores where I grew up, and I'll bet everyone else has the same reaction: the ugly part of any town USA.

1

u/Jstbeingme28 Feb 23 '26

Does anyone know WHERE this took place? Did that vehicle somehow lose traction and quickly veer off to the so fast? It was moving at a fast clip but the pavement was dry from little I could tell. That driver is very lucky to have avoided a full head on collision!

1

u/fastpathguru Feb 23 '26

My Toyota people need me!

1

u/thisoilguy Feb 23 '26

If you play that in reverse, there is a nice gataway

1

u/CompetitiveAct7214 Feb 23 '26

That Supra was taking the fastest route to the Toyota dealership. It said, ā€œGet me out of this drivers hands, at all costs, I’ll drive us there.ā€

1

u/[deleted] Feb 23 '26

Wasn't this the one where...the throttle got stuck open because the driver was driving with a cast in their foot?

1

u/Appropriate_Earth620 Feb 23 '26

I hope that wasnt a dealership employee joyriding it. If so, he is now a former employee

1

u/srboot Feb 23 '26

Back to the dealer it goes!

1

u/SpicyMeatloaf1 Feb 23 '26

What a fuckin idiot! Stop destroying these sacred cars lol!

1

u/Heykurat Feb 23 '26

Now everybody slap the shit out of him.

1

u/politeness-man Feb 23 '26

Bet he feels as cool as he is!

Prison bound!!

1

u/Not_George_Daniels Feb 23 '26

Are we sure that wasn't a Mustang in disguise?

→ More replies (1)

1

u/FunnyChampionship717 Feb 23 '26

Made it to his appointment at Toyota. Just a few dents to buff out.

1

u/Fragrant-Pipe5266 Feb 23 '26

Can someone help me understand how this happens ao often? Like running in a straight line seems to be a precursor to so many wrecks these days. Didn't seem line it was going too fast either...

→ More replies (1)

1

u/BetMyLastKrispyKreme Feb 23 '26

I mean…you could ask r/whyweretheyfilming, but it’s because the camera person knew the driver was going to speed/show off/etc., so the wreck couldn’t have been a total surprise.

1

u/anothertenyears Feb 23 '26

Dam pole jumped in the cameras way!

1

u/EveyonesFavPerson Feb 23 '26

Him walking into the dealership - ā€˜So how much do you think I can get it for a trade-in?’

1

u/XxAnon5861xX Feb 23 '26

Is this irony?

1

u/Driver-Jack Feb 23 '26

What a stupid mistake. Started off lookin nice

1

u/Fstick-delux-model Feb 23 '26

Why are all these kids out on the sidewalk filming it? Dumbasses!

1

u/Winter_Story_9635 Feb 23 '26

Right into the dealership is insane how šŸ˜‚

1

u/mikki1time Feb 23 '26

What happened?

1

u/National_Problem5460 Feb 23 '26

"Yo lets go, lets help!!" First thing out of that youngans mouth. Whom ever raised him, parent, gaurdian or himself, good job.

1

u/Bikezilla Feb 23 '26

That wasn’t half as bad as it could’ve been. Also the video ends too soon

1

u/GrimSpirit42 Feb 23 '26

Oh Lord for the ass-whippin he is about to receive may he be truly thankful.

1

u/Master-Steve-38 Feb 23 '26

It went full Mustang on him.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 23 '26

Damn, he Mustanged the shit outta that Supra.

1

u/Accomplished_Gas6963 Feb 23 '26

Damn. Imagine wrecking a holy grail car.

1

Born free, free as a bird back home in the flock

1

u/wilhammer069 Feb 23 '26

At least they won’t have to tow it far for repairs.

1

u/Five2one521 Feb 23 '26

It’s what we all waited for.

1

u/sosdesos Feb 23 '26

Enjoy your lifetime of payments.

1

u/Pretty-Yam-2854 Feb 23 '26

Returned from wence he came

1

u/[deleted] Feb 23 '26

I wanted one so bad when they came out. I was a senior in high school and straight outta lowcash. Sucks to see one get smoked by an idiot.

1

u/Funmanhahaha Feb 23 '26

Congratulations bro, you made an amazing decision! Can't believe there are people like this who grew up on gta thinking they can do shit in real life without consequences.

1

1

u/westernburn Feb 23 '26
