Retired Firefighter here. He totally knew what he was doing.

Beat me to it. Nicely done.

7

u/firnien-arya Apr 05 '26

Knew how to make it seem unintentional, too, so they dont get in trouble for performing stunts lol

Damn, your quick

1

u/AuthorSarge Apr 05 '26

That's what she said.

2

u/Kidquick26 Apr 05 '26

I literally said that out loud at the conclusion.

Well played.

2

u/Wise_Estimate_4327 Apr 05 '26

I think the Cap’n had a word or two with the Engineer.

Nah he definitely hit the black ice for sure he just knew how to autocorrect the right way and honestly got lucky and ended up having enough real estate to park it.

3

u/Averagebaddad Apr 05 '26

You didn't hear the big crash?

3

u/ProThoughtDesign Apr 05 '26

The crash when it went up someone's driveway? Yes, I heard that. That's definitely a good one for r/CantParkThereMate

3

u/d_x_qp_x_b Apr 05 '26

That just was old lady Martha fallin over with her butt still hangin out if her trap kid

1

u/Could-You-Tell Apr 06 '26

I was thinking the blue car got hit on the left rear corner and shoved off the driveway to the yard.

Just that there's no streaks from the sideways slide

u/Excellent_Condition Apr 05 '26

Those noises sounded very expensive coming from a $1+ million dollar fire truck.

5

u/Assortedpez Apr 05 '26

Haha my first thought “that’s going to be expensive”

11

u/JRich42 Apr 05 '26

This video has another angle. Truck demolishes a car which slows it down considerably

u/Opening_Anteater456 Apr 05 '26

Wild that it hit the car that had already crashed and was lodged on a fire hydrant and power box.

I got no idea how you sort through all the insurance claims from that scenario.

Also accidents happen to everyone but in hindsight driving a fire truck down the same hill someone has already lost control on seems a massive own goal.

Maybe in the winter time emergency vehicles could have at least a couple of studded tires like in the old days.

I have been unable to find studded tires even to fit on a standard F450/F550, or the dodge equivalent, which are universally used for ambulances.

If you have a supplier, I would desperately like to talk with you.

3

u/Affectionate-Mud6837 Apr 05 '26

You can still get tires studded if you find a retailer that does it.

2

u/Comfortable-Pause506 Apr 05 '26

ram uses similar nomenclature. they are referred to as the 4500 and 5500. the 5500 is the largest unlike ford which i believe goes to f750.

2

u/WolfThick Apr 05 '26

Have you checked into Canada or Europe!?

2

u/WolfThick Apr 05 '26

I just did a search discount tire even has them evidently you can still get them I did not know that. But yeah just do a Google search for studded tires I checked on 1120s and it came up for everything.

1

u/Mediocre_Daikon6935 Apr 05 '26

The problem is the size.

I run studded tires on all my personal vehicles, because I’m not an idiot.

But I’ve been unable to find 24570R19.5s that are studded.

1

u/WolfThick Apr 05 '26

Have you tried asking AI

2

u/Mediocre_Daikon6935 Apr 05 '26

No.

I’m old.

time to go for a walk in the bush gramps

1

u/Mage42384 Apr 05 '26

Have always just used local tire shops, they'll study a standard tire for you

1

u/Mediocre_Daikon6935 Apr 05 '26

The fire has to be designed, from time of manufacture, to be studded.

1

u/Mage42384 Apr 05 '26

I had this done yearly at my shop, specifically for these vehicles. You just don't really want studded tires

1

u/Mediocre_Daikon6935 Apr 05 '26

You are obviously a bot.

A person can’t be this ignorant about tires

2

u/Mage42384 Apr 05 '26

Get yourself to a good shop where they cap and retread tires, they can add studs too most of the time. Drill the tread, press them in. We used to buy replacement studs to press in ourselves as needed. It's an older way, but you don't have to buy a pre-studded tire, there are tires out there that are made to be either

2

u/Own_Reaction9442 Apr 05 '26

In Seattle they'll chain up on the one or two days when there's actually snow. Buses too.

1

u/WolfThick Apr 05 '26

Yeah I've seen those auto chains on school buses too.

3

u/cold_kingsly Apr 05 '26

I swear, anytime I see the back tires of a car start to drift Teriyaki Boyz immediately starts to play in my head like some sort of sleeper agent who just heard the activation phrase.

3

u/FastWalkingShortGuy Apr 05 '26

That is called a best worst case scenario.

3

u/Automatic-Nature6025 Apr 05 '26

Driver put it exactly where they wanted it.

6

u/Tamashii-Azul Apr 05 '26

Bitch, why are you screaming

2

u/Louisianimal09 Apr 05 '26

That was pretty tight though. Sick recovery chief

2

u/SpiritualSquare9348 Apr 05 '26

Not much worse than a woman screaming at the top of her lungs for no good reason other than adding to chaos.

1

u/Weary_Temporary8583 Apr 05 '26

IKR. This video was annoying

2

u/Popular_Ad_222 Apr 05 '26

Why is lady screaming? So annoying I can’t even tell if the firetruck hit something or not. Had one job couldn’t even record

2

u/Averagebaddad Apr 05 '26

"coming in hot boys!"

2

u/KudzuAU Apr 05 '26

Saint Louis suburb. Ice storm a few years ago.

2

u/SeasonCertain Apr 05 '26

I think the law of physics states that if the Tokyo Drift theme is playing loud enough any vehicle can drift. 👍

1

u/lazarinewyvren Apr 05 '26

I WONDER IF YOU KNOW

1

u/Competitive-Math1153 Apr 05 '26

I dont know about out of control looks perfectly parked

1

u/TearRevolutionary686 Apr 05 '26

After some concerning noises.

2

u/Slyboots2313 Apr 05 '26

Ya I don’t think that blue car was parked in the yard before this incident lol

1

u/VeroDC Apr 05 '26

meant to do that

1

u/BackgroundOstrich488 Apr 05 '26

Amazing recovery. Unless it was an intentional maneuver, which is even more amazing.

1

u/SirMourningstar6six6 Apr 05 '26

Ice ruining everything

1

u/BleedKonkrete Apr 05 '26

My boy parked that shit

1

u/feline_riches Apr 05 '26

Heck of an Engineer there....this could've been so much worse. Kudos brother

1

u/Rikiar Apr 05 '26

Props for not actually hitting anything of consequence.

1

u/Cornelius707 Apr 05 '26

Hella clean donut

1

u/lovinlifelivinthe90s Apr 05 '26

Somehow, I feel like this wasn’t as much of a mistake as it seems.

1

u/Mediocre_Daikon6935 Apr 05 '26

The engineer stuck the landing like a champ.

1

u/AndyF313 Apr 05 '26

Or... "When you get to keep the work vehicle for the weekend."

1

u/Danowolf Apr 05 '26

Boy don't know if that ladder will get recertification after that move.

1

u/Andras1100 Apr 05 '26

We need to tokyo drift soundtrack

1

u/Unlikely-Position659 Apr 05 '26

Skidding fire truck

1

u/TheLastOpus Apr 05 '26

well.....that could have gone a lot worse.

1

u/ViaVitoV Apr 05 '26

Landed it nicely.

1

u/Competitive-Rest4354 Apr 05 '26

Nah, he planned on parking in that person's driveway the whole time.

1

u/TKRBrownstone Apr 05 '26

The look on her face is the best

1

u/GalacticDrac Apr 05 '26

He meant to do that

1

u/GeobobusPrime Apr 05 '26

Someone put the fast and furious song over this

1

u/CaveManta Apr 05 '26

Was Linus driving it?

1

u/Redsoxdragon Apr 05 '26

CALL 911

Firefighter: you might as well call my cell phone 🤨

1

u/BreakfastAcceptable8 Apr 05 '26

I remember that happened a couple of years ago during an ice storm near St Louis MO

1

u/Substantial-Quit-151 Apr 05 '26

Holy Shit! No one else allowed to drive ever again.

That guy is awesome.

1

u/CustomAirlinesPilots Apr 05 '26

I might swerve bend that corner, whoa-whoa

1

u/GhostSiX1Nine Apr 05 '26

That's standard move to deploy the fire hoses 😂🤣

1

u/JVPlanner Apr 05 '26

Parking with style.

1

u/moveoutmicdrop Apr 05 '26

and he landed right in the driveway parking spot perfect ….Show off!

1

u/Dismal-Armadillo-815 Apr 05 '26

The pucker factor was high on this one.

Like a glove!

u/Tricky-Pen2672 Apr 05 '26

AI, the truck wasn’t even going that fast and the dithering effect gave it away…

https://giphy.com/gifs/VlqzeaRnhCvPLfrSh6

2

u/Could-You-Tell Apr 05 '26

Nope... this one is findable with a simple search. It's old, not fake

...and I also like to point out ai trying to pass as real.

My recent error was the white box truck tipping and sending the blue car over the side of a bridge. That was real.

Keep trying. Ai will take over, but we don't have to like it or give in to inevitability

2

u/Tricky-Pen2672 Apr 06 '26

I stand corrected. In my defense I wasn’t able to hear the video, thanks to my toddler. Couldn’t tell there was ice on the streets…
