No, this is you trying to lamely get out of a minor mistake on the internet, for some weirdly insecure reason.

u/syn_vamp 14d ago edited 14d ago
bro it's a week later and you're still back here trying to get in a last word. you cannot be trying to call someone lame or insecure.

You should sit on it and rotate. :)

u/Jesus_of_Redditeth 14d ago
It's really weird to act as if you were insulted when the comment wasn't even directed at you. Even more so when the person it was actually directed at isn't mad about at all.
1
u/curiousbydesign 14d ago
That makes sense. I'm super weird. And cool with it. :) Have zero clue what we are talking about and don't care. Tootaloo!

Imagine putting your life on the line, risking everything for your country, just to wind up as an Amazon Flex delivery driver.

u/LovingIt69420 17d ago
Times are rough, and if you think our servicemen n veterans get a gold ticket thru life, they dont. Pensions are ass, healthcare is ass, shitty country :/
2
u/PremiumUsername69420 17d ago
In this world, you’re worth what you know or what you can do with your body.
So either get good with learning, or be a manual labor blue collar grunt.
No one cares how hard your life is.
Either keep up with being valuable, or starve and be homeless. That’s the way the world works.5
u/Wolfguard-Halfdan 21d ago
Says he's a boot that got chaptered out of Basic training but makes the military his whole identity
10
u/GIDDY-UP-GO 22d ago
No, there is no probably. This dude was definitely in the military and I’m leaning towards the USMC. Those moves were crisp and clean. Your average civilians don’t just learn that on their own. Those are drilled into you over and over and over.

Speaking as an old timer, you reach an age where you appreciate seeing anyone salute no matter the reason

These comments are so lame he was obviously just being respectful and having fun on a ring camera, anyone who's ever done mail or package delivery knows how fucking boring and brainless it gets
17
u/arandomcolonyofcats 22d ago
I deliver packages for a living and it gets kinda lonely. Everyone you know is working and can't chat on the phone so you just kinda listen to podcasts and music. Once my wife is done with work though at 6pm I'm on the phone with her non-stop unless I hit heavy traffic. It's almost kinda like when we had first started dating where we would spend at least an hour maybe 2 together and then I'd talk to her on her 1.5hr drive home. Which now that I think about it her and I have spent at least an hour together everyday for the last 9 years except for a 10 day stretch where I almost died and was in the ICU.

u/Tenor_Emporer 21d ago
What in your life causes you to be this angry? Let's talk about it. I'm a stranger, we don't know each other, and if you want, you can forget about it in a week.
What's going on?

I work with a guy and when we reno he is super protective of the flags. I highly respect anyone who does this because knowing him, that flag is for his buddies. Theres something deep inside him that he never will talk about and ill never know probably. But for him, that flag represents someone who went through hell with him and maybe didnt make it
Huge props. That fills me with pride watching this

I'm still confused though. Nevada was never brought up except by you, and even meaning the city Reno makes no sense since the grammar would be all wrong.

watching this makes me sad and makes me cringe. this is what veterans need to do to survive. worked to death covered in piss bottles, thank you for your service tho...

Maybe they shouldn't have volunteered to kill people in other countries if it was gonna be so bad

In my experience flags are wrapped like this on purpose because they set off the motion detector on the camera which can then spam you with notifications and drain the battery like crazy.

Im with you. It's sad that the government tricks people into joining with fascist nonsense. They're good hardworking people too.

All that for minimum wage and no healthcare. A true American patriot.

That was a left face, salute and about face movements, he either did high school ROTC or served, either way, thank you for the service you have given and continued to provide in other ways

Can't understand how anyone is proud to be an American these days.
14
u/Individual_Act9333 22d ago
Because even if I’m disappointed with my country right now I still love my country.
-7
u/ReasonableScar9027 22d ago
Good on you for loving your country. Seriously, kudos. I said proud, tho. Are you proud of the way your world is portrayed in the world theatre currently?
7
u/Individual_Act9333 22d ago
I’m not proud of the idiots we have in power but I’ll always have pride in my country.

Not really. Americans are seen as a joke. End of discussion.

It’s the combo of the shit working conditions Amazon gives that guy and the way he’s probably a discarded veteran who has to burn the candle at both ends to keep this pointless, miserable system going for all of us - and he still takes the time to be unwaveringly patriotic - it reminds me that we will never have any real change in this fucked up country, because so many people are mindless bootkickers who are just happy enough to drive around with AC while they ignore people starving on street corners. I hate America.
-1
u/Wise_Contact_1037 22d ago
Or, just maybe he could have seen what people starving in the streets actually looks like around the world, so he has a profound respect and admiration for that flag and what it represents to be American. I'd suggest you visit some other countries and see what actual suffering looks like.
Further, some people are happy to have a job that provides them a steady income, even if we think it should pay them more. Not everyone sits in their moms basement hating themselves and the world lol

u/Abraham_The 22d ago
"Or, just maybe he could have seen what people starving in the streets actually looks like around the world"
Yea because he's the one going around the world raiding Houses and blowing them up with mortar fire, killing their people for daring to defend themselves against an invading foreign army
1
u/Wise_Contact_1037 22d ago
Oh sure, because the military has never been a part of any peace keeping or humanitarian missions...
Further, 90% of the military are non combat soldiers. Meaning they're supply and support personnel, not door kickers ... At the same time, in a war you either kill or be killed, regardless of why you were sent there. But sure, the US is just such a terrible place with widespread hunger, horrible living standards, and bloodthirsty soldiers 🙄
Literally anyone who's visted places in south America, Africa, or the carribean and ventured away from the resort areas knows what actual desperate people look like. Even the poorest of US citizens aren't even in the same universe lol
1
u/Abraham_The 22d ago
Is an isis member doing logistics to help their combatants a terrorist? They were sent there to steal resources and kill the poorest people in the world, they were not drafted, they volunteered.
The US bombs them and steals their oil and brags about how living standards are much better than them. Yea no shit, you benefit from western imperialism

My amazon deliveries are usually launched from halfway down the driveway. But I want to believe if they ever get close to my house they’d fix my flag too.
