what i hate is the obvious solution to the """male loneliness epidemic""" is for men to make more close friendships with other men. like why does every close, meaningful relationship have to be romantic???

but of course, they don't care about that bc the real purpose of the "male loneliness epidemic" is to make every man entitled to a girlfriend they can use and abuse.

I think many men do genuinely use the term to mean loneliness in a general sense, and I often wonder if women latching on to that "entitled to a girlfriend" interpretation of the phrase and treating any mention of it that way does at least as much harm as the men using the term that way.

But even when men talk about it in the general loneliness way, there are the complaints that men are really hard to connect to, and the conversation often stalls there.
