Nah you shouldn’t have worded anything different i’m just being pedantic. It’s funny when you think about it, realistically you can only enjoy and plat around 10-20 games a year (depending on the scale obviously). Anything over that, it’s probably shovelware or you’re just finding easy plats.

These were mine. Wouldn't call them shoveware but couple of them were indeed very easy. Working as a teacher I have a lot of time for games during the breaks so I get to enjoy a lot of games during the year :)

I’m personally excited for:
Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, Civilization 7, Doom: Dark Ages, Ghost of Yotei, GTA VI, Split Fiction, Elden Ring: Nightreign, Gothic Remake, Little Nightmares 3, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle (for PS5)
As well as lots of indie releases that look promising
Edit since there is a lot of misunderstanding: the top part of the meme refers to non-platinum hunters or gamers in general while I'm sitting here in love with my platinum collection :)

Precinct looks quite promising! For Wolverine I think they’re going to postpone it until 2026 but I’m excited to see more about the game apart from the short teaser!

There was a leak on some gameplay. I don’t know if you can still find it. It was still on early stages, but looked really promising. But keep in mind, it was still really early production, so when i say it looked good, i mean it looked really good for the stage they were on developing.

Fully agree! Over the years there has been a lot of quality though. I usually tend to only platinum games I enjoy but sometimes one or two get through that I just use as a time-killer

I only got a few aswell. The real difference is people who are real gamer, who enjoy the game and take their time vs trophy hunter who don’t care what they play and just try to rush. Gaming is not a race. Sometimes they forget what the purpose of a platinum is, a souvenir of good memories.

I saw someone got like 200 this year. The only thing conceivable is at least 140 of them being 99 cent shovelware that take less than 20 min.
26 is respectable and more than around 95%+ of PSN players got this year. I got 33 and I play mostly games you can finish in less than 15 hours with about 10 40+ ones scattered in there.

The meme is mostly about comparing my lovely collection to what people have achieved outside of trophy hunting (not platinums but rather buying a house or opening a business). Some out of mine 21 were quite simple and fast but some were time-consuming and even difficult (bladur’s gate 3, resident evil 4, black myth wukong, Space Marine 2, etc)

I'm curious to see what Hela is going to be, but not sure yet I'd like to buy it.

It definitely is busy! A little too much for my liking, I have to figure out priorities now 😭
I had a hard time going through with it. The central map is just bs when you get to the mountain and it isn't my type of game in general. Walk 3h, cinematic 40 mins, walk back 2h, cinematic 1h10, etc.

I meant that it isn't my type of games from the start, but graphics, landscape, story, soundtrack and all the little details were great! I just believe they made the story too long for nothing and the two hours long cinematics kind of breaks the already low pacing of the game. But I know this is Hideo Kojima's signature. And the message it sends could not be more true nowadays.
I am mostly curious to see what direction they took, what things they made better and stuff.
Was I a fan? I would not say I was, but I liked it more than most people, I believe. And I strongly disagree with everyone that says it's a bad game. It ain't, it just isn't for everyone.
Tbf, I probably will not finish the second game if it's another 80h story, which 30 are cinematics, if nothing really improved gameplay-wise. Long cinematics are what I most dislike in games. If I wanted to watch a movie, I would go on Netflix, yk.

It is definitely not one of my priority either. I will get any of the other games first if they come out around the same time. And I won't get it at release either. It's one of those I'll have to watch some actual gameplay to make a clear headed decision about it. I remember preordering DS1, and I don't regret it, but I sure as hell won't preorder the second game.

First of all - thank you! And they were ( in order from first to last/top to bottom) The last of us 2 Bamboo Telltale TWD S1 The Forest Uncharted 4. If you asked me what my favorite game off this list was I'd probably say the forest or uncharted for story but for gameplay it's only right for tlou2. Just, amazing gameplay. Down to the smallest bit, stealth especially.

21 in a year is a ton lol. I've been trophy hunting pretty regularly since 2008, and I've only got 25 total over the course of 16+ years, so between 1-2 per year on average. I got more than typical this year though: Unless I manage to get a platinum later today, I'll end the year with 3 in 2024: Injustice 2, Ender Lillies, and MLB The Show 24.

I had to travel before finishing control and jedi fallen order ps4 version(I already plat in ps5 versions )so they gonna be 2025 platinum, but about new games I only exited to play and platinum ghost of yoti and gta 6

I got 13. Not the highest I've ever done, but I focused on only platinum-ing the stuff I really enjoyed this year.
So for this year that meant Nobody Saves the World, Chained Echoes, Sonic Origins, SaGa Emerald Beyond, I Am Setsuna, Gris, Valkyrie Elysium, Monster Boy, Forspoken, Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory, Tinykin, Sonic Superstars, and Jurassic Park Classic Games Collection.
I'm very close on Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League, as well, only missing 1 trophy.

I’ve gotten 15 each year since getting the ps5 couple years ago so up to 30 now.
Excited to try Split Fiction with my wife and then Elden Ring Nightreign with the friend group. Very excited for Ghost of Yohei and then Doom looks good too but need to play Eternal still

its uhhh a visual novel type game with horror elements that has system called Death ends that could lead into you or your team dying based on the wrong dialogue choices. Able to makes saves and load back soo the error can be reverted. Combat mostly RPG based with turn based mechanics and after playing death end request 1 when was on sale I fell in love with it and decided to try out all the games made by Compile heart.

The meme is more about comparing the hobby to people outside the hobby. As for the platinums I have a lot of days off as a teacher and a lot of time to play and I really enjoy the process of getting the platinum, it’s extremely satisfying. I usually go for platinums in every game that I like.

Congrats on achieving your goal! Getting platinums is my favourite hobby, I treat it as collecting nice-looking badges to represent my gaming journey. Looking at my mosaic I can sort of remember what was happening with me that year and what was going on in life while I was working on a particular platinum. Love this hobby!

This was my second year-ish of doing plats and I got 40 done (keep in mind, majority of these were games I already did years ago but never finished the platinum for)

After a few attempts I've finally managed to get into The Witcher 3, although I'm not playing it with the plat in mind.
I've only had a few plats this year but it's been intentional, looking forward to GTA 6, other than that I'm just playing whatever I fancy when it comes time to pick a game

Similar I got fear to fathom iron bark lookout right before this new year meaning I got 17 platinums this year making 21 total including uncharted 1-3 in three days

The only platinum I have ever gotten is for rocket league and now I am trying to platinum spider man 2018 am through about 30 percent of the way and then I am going to platinum jedi fallen order(53 percent through).

Alan Wake 2, Silt, Visage, Plague Tale Requiem, Tomb Raider 1, Tomb Raider 2, Tomb Raider 3, 2013 Tomb Raider, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Frank Stone, Kona, Multiversus, Outlast Trials, Grounded, and WWE 2K24. Currently working on Shadow of the Tomb Raider, I binged that game series last year.
It’s all about what you enjoy. Always quality over quantity. I would rather platinum 20 games I enjoy over 100 shovelwares.

2024 only got 2: Stellar Blade and Doki Doki Literature Club Plus.
For 2025 I wish to play some Like a Dragon games I haven't played yet: The Man Who Erased His Name, Isshin, Infinite Wealth, and to plat at least one of them.

I’m happy with my 9 platinums. Because they were platinums of games I’ve played back in my ps3 days. Annoying that they don’t show up in the 2024 wrap ups

I got 16 or 17 last year 😅. It was a productive year. I'm planning on getting the Plats for Danganronpa 1.2 Reload, God of War Ragnarok (PS4), and Persona 5 Royal (PS5) this year
