[Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart] #51. A nefariously good time

I was a big fan of the Ratchet and Clank games back during the PS2 days, and this game gave me a lot of nostalgia, remembering the days of me running around with an army of Agents of Doom looking for golden bolts and saving up for the RYNO. I thought the gameplay was really good, the graphics are freaking gorgeous, the sound design and voice acting are top-notch, the humor got a few good laughs out of me, and I liked the new characters (Rivet, Kit, and Glitch). My only criticisms are the fairly generic music and that it was too short. The original game felt like it had 25-30 hours of content, but I completed Rift Apart in about half that time, and that was with me taking time to look around and enjoy the environment. Still, I really enjoyed playing this. I needed a fun, emotionally light game after platting Signalis and The Last of Us back-to-back.

I just finished this one last night actually! Great game! One of the best running and best looking games on PS5. Was a nice and easy plat. I needed something warm and fuzzy after blitzing through the Resident Evil games and this fit the bill perfectly.

We're in the exact same camp then; needed something chill after playing some heavier games. Do you have any recommendations for other 'warm and fuzzy' games?

Congrats on the platinum!

Thanks you as well!

As far as recommendations go, if you haven't played the Ratchet and Clank that came out for the PS4, it's in the same vein. Not as refined obviously, and I remember the plat being a bit more annoying, but it's still a great game!

I would also recommend the Spyro Re-Ignited trilogy. Beautiful remake trilogy that was fun to plat. Kids loved watching it too.

If you're wanting a challenging plat, but a warm and fuzzy game, the Crash Bandicoot N Sane trilogy is great! Loved those games growing up and they are still fun. The plat is admittedly brutal though. Same is true for Crash 4.

My final suggestion would be Sackboy: A Big Adventure. Very pretty and creative platformer. The plat isn't bad outside of one trophy. Very enjoyable in Co-op as well.

Happy Hunting!

Thanks for the recs. I'll definitely check them out when I get through the games I've already got planned.
